Don't remember the cost and don't really care.

I grew up in a ski town. My parent's house was a mile and a half from the slopes. Children there learned to ski before they could walk. Spent my teen years doing cross country and downhill. Had a teacher who would cross country ski to school. Her skis would sit in a corner of the classroom with a puddle under them. I like skiing as much as the next guy, but you are delusional.

I do indeed. The older I get, the more I hate winter. I would like nothing better than to live next to a white sand beach and sip rum drinks and surf fish all day. But circumstances led me to settle down near DC. So here I am, an hour outside the swamp, making the best of it.

I did, however, try to bring a little bit of that beach life to my property. Here is my oasis for six months out of the year and a shot of me enjoying one of my favorite spots in the world - Seven Mile Beach in Negril.

I agree. Larry has a bee in his bonnet lately. Ever since he told us he knows what God looks like because 'experts'.

Taking the Ranger on the trip: Logical choice. New vehicle, capable, and can haul lumber needed on ride back, saving $$$ an making the ride more comfortable. Winning.

Staying in a $800 per night Ski Lodge: Admirable. Spending time with your son and family and doing what you love and still being able to do it. Time you will never regret spending later on. As good as it gets, IMO.

Looks to me like you're enjoying an active retirement with family and fun activities, and Larry is neck deep in yet another project, in between swatting mosquitoes and killing poisonous snakes. :seasix:
