Wifey got a gun,,, should I be concerned

I do not own a gun yet, will be starting a collection as soon as I stop spending truckloads on cars, car mods and scotch.

But the wifey ordered one yesterday, an Air Pistol from amazon, I thought she was joking, but it will arrive today, along with 1,000 shots.
Pretty certain she may be upgrading to a .22 soon,,,

She explained too many large lizards and bad poisonous frogs in and around the backyard, which pose very high threat to both dogs--she made it sound legit.

My concern is she may use it on me, like when I refuse to get off the couch and she needs something done.

Does BBs sting, can they break skin, how many shots can she fire while I take five seconds to get cover.

All advice is appreciated, serious or not-serious,,, thanks.

Your basic BB gun won't hurt too much. We used to have BB gun wars in the woods as kids all the time. There are more serious pellet rifles out there that can kill you, however. I have a Beeman R1 that will go clean through a crow at 100 feet. But it is a single shot and takes 40 pounds of force to cock it, so that might be out of the realm of possibilities for her.

I shot 300+ pellets round from my nephew's rifle last year at Thanksgiving in PA; like others in here, the b-i-l also bought the 80+ acre adjacent lot.

Targets were trees, down branches and plastic milk gallons, I was okay, not great,,, less humiliating when I started blaming the scope from 50 - 75 yard range.

I have a Benjamin .177 Pnuematic pistol I bought in 1980. It has harvested rabbits and squirrels. So yeah, you could lose an eye for sure.

We would have gunfights in our little boats on the Elizabeth River with kids from neighborhoods from the opposite shore, Daisy Red Ryder type rifles....getting hit stung a bit but I had a hit just above my left eye once and that was it for me, that would have been some serious stuff. I've tried shooting pigeons off my boathouse with a Daisy rifle and I thought sure it would kill or disable them, not so, the squawk, drop a big load and fly away.
