without shooting or killing them? I know I can set a trap but is there something I can put on my lawn to keep them from destroying it?:confused5:

They're famous for not being able to hold their liquor in Texas:

I'd suggest leaving some open beers around. The problem will solve itself.

My SIL that lived for 3 decades in the panhandle of Florida picked them off after dark with a shotgun....she claimed they were so nasty even buzzards wouldn't eat them. Poison and even gas bombs in their tunnels didn't eradicate them so she lit 'em up nightly with a 12 gauge.

Catching and relocating them is your only option.
Grab by tail, toss in bed of truck, find new home.

Get rid of the grubs in your lawn and you won’t have armadillos.

A combination of Nematodes and diatomaceous earth powder is what I was considering for my garden. According to my research the beetles lay the eggs at night on moist leaves so only water in the mornings when the Sun is out, the powder dehydrates the beetles, and nematodes bore holes into the skin of whatever makes it through that gauntlet to hatch.

You could just use the American way and poison the environment but this will require regular reapplication as the chemicals seep down into the water table and/or break down over time. The other options should be more long lasting/self-sustaining in addition to being non-hazardous to you and other life forms of the non-insectoid forms of life such as fish and birds.

Grab by tail, toss on the grill, saute with garlic, onions, cayenne pepper and season with Tony Chachere's. Cook until all the leprosy is gone, and serve with a nice Turbo Dog

Exactly. If you wanna mess with the locals, spray paint stripes and racing numbers on them before you let them go. After a while people start calling the cops over the "Little racing animals they see everywhere.". then ya get to see cops out chasing ;dillos around.

Oh...uhm...or at least that's what some guy told me in the 70's.:seasix:

Regular traps won't work, but these will:

https://thearmadillotrap.com/

I bought two of them and within a week I had trapped 4 of the nasty ****ers. They were re-homed about 10 miles away.

No armadillos in my hood, rarely seen them in SE FL, are they as destructive as iguanas, as those damn lizards destroy everything by eating 100% of all vegetation, many post up in local forums they eliminate them in their yards with BB guns.

Can you look into a closed trap to ensure you caught the desired beast? I’d hate to drive 10 miles to relocate and find i’d caught the neighbors cat or a skunk.

So you're saying all it takes to get rid of a cat is to trap it and move it 10 miles?

Yup, there's a hole on the top to look through. Other animals won't go into the traps because they've been scented with armadillo scent.
