The really bad thing is that they are doing it to children in school in the name of "equity". Intelligent children and their parents are getting shafted because of this and it will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Ultimately, our society will pay the price as these children become adults without ever having learned advanced sciences and math. Liberals will blame it on global warming and inherent racism and the cycle will continue.

It would be nice to go back to the basics in school instead of all the BS. Each year taxes go up to support schools and what the hell do we get out of it. Let's see how many stupid classes we can make to employ more teachers and assistants to rake in more tax money. Let's go back to Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, SCIENCE, History and basic skills.
My entry into Public schools shocked me after 8 years in Catholic school. It amazed me how many non necessary classes there were. We had an English class called the History of Rock, all about rock and roll history for english.
I can only imagine what the school curriculum looks like today.

And on the subject of professional sports, Haven't watched anything since the idiots went on strike. A bunch of overpaid pre schoolers in my opinion. Imaging making $25M for playing football. Play 4 years and retire with investments.

To be perfectly fair, there were still some decent school districts out there, just none near any major cities. I grew up in a very small town in the sticks about an hour outside Pittsburgh, and the high school that I graduated from was still pushing STEM in the 70's. This was the type of school where "baling season" was a legitimate excuse for missing class.

Realizing that not all children were capable of grasping the more difficult classes, they would bus those not able to keep up offsite somewhere where they would learn trades. It was called VoTech. Today, they merely call the more difficult classes "racist" and stop teaching them to the more gifted students. They call this "equity". As in "everyone gets shafted".

I would hate to go back and see what that school is like now. Probably woke as **** and has litter boxes in the classrooms for the "furries". Oh well. :shrug: At least I got a decent education out of it. By the time I left high school, I had three years of language, two semesters of chemistry, two semesters of physics, and intro to calculus under my belt.

Hmmm...I'm and old white boomer. I raised two daughters and now have 4 grandchildren, all in public schools. My oldest daughter is an assistant principal at a public elementary school. Fortunately, in her school district, there is no woke agenda. The children say the Pledge of Allegiance and the Pledge of Allegiance to Texas on a daily basis. I attend school board meetings and I volunteer at my daughter's school.
