As I reflect back here at the end of the year, I think of the cars that have come and gone. I've owned many, many specialty cars in my 64 years but the one I hate selling the most was the Corvette racing yellow 2018 M7 Z51 car. Sold it to reduce the fleet for retirement and it was the most difficult to get in and out of with the new knees. Sold it back to the dealership I bought if from and made a killing at their expense, wish I had held on to it.

What do you regret?

The real regret was that 78 Camaro.

When I was over in Korea, I found out I could order a new car through the Afees system. So, I was to return November 77 and ordered a 78.

I really wanted a Z28 but the base price was about 5k and the base price of a regular Camaro was around $4100.

So with my "genetically engineered intellect" I got the basic Camaro LT. The salesman over in Korea and I got creative.

I ordered it black with a Buckskin tan interior. 350 cu in engine, Hurst, Posi rear end with 4:10's, Front and rear spoilers and all instrumentation.

Came in at $4900. That mther fker went like a raped ape.

Not even one. I’ve always been a love ‘em and leave ‘em guy concerning cars/trucks/boats/motorcycles/etc.

Although I will admit to becoming very attached to my current truck. :island14:

This is one I regret buying...

About 1980, my room mate purchased a '73 to stuff a V8 in. First mistake was not purchasing the frame connectors. Second mistake was the first run with the new motor.

Not only did the windshield pop out, but the left front tire was in the air when parked. That's when he found a lot of bondo work which was backed up with shop rags. :banghead:

Don’t have pics of it but had a sweet 56’ Chevy I wish I’d kept. 327, m22 4sp. Car was surprisingly fast with that little engine.

Picked up a 21’ Challenger last year and really liking it. Not as flashy as the vettes but so much easier to get in and out of.

I went with my younger brother to the dealer to check out a brand new '85 GpZ550 for him. They had a what ended up being my '82 GpZ 750 with 700 miles for $1200. No chrome sold me.

I regret not getting a 50th anniversary scat pack car in 2020. They were all numbered and there just weren't any out there for the longest time so I settled for the RT. I think I'll pick up a Hellcat this summer.

Hellcat would be sick. I had this car ordered by the dealer and the factory has “this car was built for” and my name on the window sticker. Gonna make it hard to sell but if I did, it would be for a Hellcat or TRX.

I’ve always bought used with toys like these but the market was so screwed up, it was cheaper to order a brand new one last year. Nuts!

I had (still have, but it's in terrible condition now) a '78. Fun little car, but mine wouldn't keep a head gasket on it. Even paid some big $ to have the engine rebuilt and it still blew the new gasket. Love the looks, fun, etc...but, wouldn't trust it out of town.

My worst regret is the one I didn't buy. I was not long out of high school when a family member offered their 1968 RS Camaro convertible... 327 2V, powerglide, baby blue with a white gut and white top. It had been rode hard and driven in Massachusetts winters so was a bit rough; but it would possibly have been the smartest $500 (I think) I never spent.

Probably this Chevelle. I bought it from a guy who worked at a Standard service station. It came with a factory 454. He pulled it on the off hours at work, built it up and took it drag racing. He also had the interior completely redone while the engine was getting rebuilt.

I didn’t care for these Lagunas at all but this one looked good in black.

I had it for about four years and blew up the transmission and rear end. Replaced both in the driveway of my grandparents house.
