I need a burn pit just to sit around with family and friends. Not allowed burn barrels or real ones in the ground, according to the HOA Mafia.
I am looking at a Bali 28 inch right now. Seems okay.
Just curious if any of you out there have one, or have recommendations..

Make sure that it has a thermocouple. That will turn the gas off in case the flame goes out. The large fire table I bought at Lowes has one, but the small fire bowl I have does not.
Big cost is the glass "beans", because they have to be tempered. You'll get lava rock with most kits and it's butt-ugly.

Thanx. I have heard of the flame out issue.
Brand you have?

Been seeing more and more of these around…
Mine is similar to this, but has a black granite top. The mechanicals are good, but the top developed a crack, and the sides started to fall apart after the first winter.

My hoa-sssholes has same rule, eff 'em, I dug one, put landscaping bricks around it, about 3-feet wide, worked damn well, I was on board so I did not report myself.
Had some great times, good burn was enjoyed by 20+, half were adults, all had broken arms I guess.
Wifey killed it by buying a much nicer propane fancy thingy the next year.
BTW, in FL we light it up if temp hits low 60s.
I have a Solo, love it. It does burn wood, not propane.

They look nice, great reviews too. Not sure it can be put on a wooden deck though. Of course, I could put something under it.
But, Propane is the route I think I am going to go.

Looks good OP, but consider one lower to ground, as one does one want to freeze when they are shit-faced drunk / passed-out.

There is a stand for them that works well.

With the airflow 'riser', it sits about 3" above the ground. We've used it on wood, grass with no issues at all.
They also have surrounds available for them.

Wifey has one of those on porch coffee table, her and her lady friends like it, I prefer the outdoor wood burners--nothing beats the smell of wood, as much more manly.

I was/am worried about it heating up the wood deck.. I had a cheap one years ago that cooked the deck a little bit..

I am thinking the smell of wood burning may be better... And the propane tanks potential flame out, in case I am not home worrys me.

I had a fire ring on my upper wood deck for years, I put it on top of some 3'x3' patio blocks and had no issues.

I got the Solo Bonfire. One nice thing about it is its portable for camping..
Their accessories are expensive. Lids, handles blah blah.. I will figure it out myself.
