Wife & I have been feeling crappy for a couple of days, got worse overnight. Took tests today & we’re both positive for covid.

Doc phoned in prescriptions (Paxlovid), son is picking them up for us later, since we’re not supposed to go out anywhere.

So what are we in for in terms of recovery?

Here's our experience with Paxlovid, we were both very ill before we started taking it. Initially the Paxlovid was amazing and other than the crappy taste in our mouths from the meds we started feeling much better really quickly. Within a couple days we were both feeling like normal......................... until. There is a term used by the medical field called Paxlovid rebound, meaning after a week or so of feeling good your symptoms rebound. We both became very ill again for another couple weeks. Not sure if it was worth taking it, my doctor said it may have prevented a worse outcome but it was a pretty miserable experience.

Well, since The Dude brought this back on topic, I'll share my experience.

Wife and I traveled to CO for a wedding on a Saturday. On Monday, we were not feeling well, but not bad. On Tuesday, I woke up feeling totally like shit, tested positive for Covid. Wife felt like shit, but didn't test positive until Wednesday. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I also felt like shit all day. Saturday I felt like shit when I got up, but the fever broke mid-day, and I felt a lot better. By Monday I was fine.

Wife battled it for 3 weeks, but recovered.

FWIW: Wife had 2 shots, no boosters, I had no shots.

I hope your experience is more like mine than my wife's.

Some were certainly repositioned into Covid related jobs that didn’t exist prior.

Everyone’s experience with the Rona is different - from symptoms to recovery so I’ll give you mine.

I had one day I felt pretty rough. Fever, chills, achy, etc. Day 2 I had moderate cold symptoms but the fever, chills and aches were gone. The rest of the week I had annoying cold symptoms and that’s it.

Two weeks AFTER I was feeling fine I lost my sense of taste and smell for 2 weeks.

A few days after that returned I started experiencing dizziness so I went to the Doc. I had fluid in my ear that somehow decided to plug my canal. I thought all the Rona shit was behind me. All the snotting I did ****ed up my sinus.

Overall Rona experience from 1-10, 10 being death; 4.5.

Oh yeah. Non vaccinated. (Still)

I had it, right after Christmas, then met all requirements for travel to Australia, with letter from Doctor stating I was free and clear, but wouldnt get negative test for some time. I had what felt like a cold for a couple of days, plus fluid in my right ear. I was fine, back to normal after 2 days, except for that ear being plugged up. I could occasionally yawn and it would open up, like when you are flying, but it still persisted. Ear was actually stopped up for several weeks, and I was just about to go see an ENT when....it popped open and that was it. Every once in a while, I still notice a little "water in the ear" sensation, although it is never stopped up. Maybe that's "long covid?"
