This year, for lack of anything better to do, we bought 6 chickens. One got tagged by a bird of prey, and one just dropped dead. Still getting more eggs than we eat, and have a surplus. I only drink this stuff during the holidays, laced with various alcohol.
Got a good recipe for egg nog?

There is a member on the other place that has a pretty good homemade recipe. I made it last year and it was tasty. I’ll see if I can find the recipe

To make 1 Gallon:
2 Quarts Half and Half
1 Dozen Fresh Eggs
1 tablespoon Vanilla
1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Rum
1 Cup Brandy
1 Cup Bourbon
Ground Nutmeg
In a blender, beat eggs until lemon yellow.
Add Sugar, Vanilla, and Salt and blend well.
Pour into gallon container (used milk jug with screw top).
Add remaining ingredients.
Shake well before serving. Jug with screw-top = no mess (ask me how I know), sprinkle with Nutmeg.
Refrigerate unused portion. Good for about a week stored @ 40*.
I usually mark the jug so it's not mistaken for milk.
The flavors will all come together after about 6 hours in the fridge, and will be infinitely more mellow than if you try it right after you make it.
Don't Drink and Drive with this stuff as it is loaded with booze (19% of the volume is liquor +/-) and is so smooth that you won't realize how schnokered you are until it's too late.

@NeedAVette has shared a good one in years past. Perhaps she will post it up again?

My mom would make it for us when we were kids. Non alcoholic, of course.
Take a glass of milk, break one egg into it, add a spoon of sugar and some vanilla, stir vigorously.

Yeah, mom's like that stuff for some reason. Had high hopes for it when I was a kid. One taste ended that expectation

We liked it. I liked rum flavoring (for baking) and she would put that in it, also food coloring, whichever color we wanted. My sister and I would fight over the color -- no way would I want whatever color she picked.
My mom was a farm girl, and somehow she knew that eggs were loaded with nutrition, so she had no problem making them for us.
This was before the government told us that raw eggs will kill you.

I just stopped off at a local party store and bought a haffa-G of this stuff. It's chilling now for later. I hope it's good. :shots:

Let me know, as I will get some when next I hit Total Wine.
I am not a cook, a baker or a mixologist, I prefer quick and easy.

We had a glass last night, not bad, maybe just a tad bit thin in density.

Thanks for the review, my TW has about 20 egg nog choices, I will try a couple.
