View Full Version : Took A Different Tack This Time

Since GM could not come through with what I wanted (offered mind you), but was not available to order and no one had what we wanted sitting on any lot.

Most of my new purchase vehicles over the past 50 years have been GM, not this time, took a different tack, bought a Ford Explorer XLT right off the lot. The honey's happy, that's all that counts. :D

Looks nice Norm. :cert:

My wife has contemplated trading up in SUV size just a little bit from her Cherokee. And has taken notice of the Explorer. :seasix:

Linda wanted a Subaru to replace her 20 year old Subaru last year....so that's what we got. and now I have a Subaru. I fit, it's comfy, hauls stuff, gets good mileage. She was happy, so I was happy. :DAB:

My camera phone colors are off, looks white but is a med to lt gray. Easy clean though.

I was impressed with the 4 cyl turbo charged ECO boost, it gits and goes. 4WD, 20" wheels, more roomy interior than I thought, I actually like it.:D

Friend of mine’s wife went to the Ford dealership to buy a new Explorer and came home with an F150. :Jeff '79:

I recommend you look into the front window molding flapping in the wind and the felt pans under the driver and passenger floor coming loose. Just get under car and try and move them with your hands. Over time they loosen up.. It has a couple screws with ultra small washers that just have no retention to hold them up. ANd the push pins are just cheap.
I have driven a few and they all come off over time due to crappy little bolts and push pins holding the pans on.. It drove me nuts.
Pillar, no fix, just keep working with dealer.
Unless they have fixed it. The ones I drover were 2020 and 2021.

Should have got a white one, then install a bull bar in front and a roof rack. That way traffic magically moves out of your way. :yesnod:

I’m not brand loyal, but I’m real pleased with my Ford F-250.

I somewhat am. I don’t even know where I comes from. I just am.

I'm not either. There are too many great vehicles to be brand loyal.

I'm quite happy with my Edge ST.
Had an Escape before it, 3.0l V6.
The reliability of the Escape lead me to the Edge.

I had (2) Chevy Blazers with 3.4L V6s prior to the Fords,
which I liked, but when it came time to replace them,
Chevy had removed the small SUV from their line-up.
Don't care for the new Chevy Blazer.

Well, at least it's not a Bronco. Apparently those things are crap and the only thing you can do is shoot them.

I somewhat am. I don’t even know where I comes from. I just am.

From the 1970’s through the late 1990’s, every purchase was a Chevy/GM. Since then I’ve had a few Fords, Toyota, and a couple of Rams. But the vast majority have been GM.

I actually like the latest gen Chevy trucks. Including the HD’s. :seasix:
