So, I designed this custom truck rack years ago. My younger brother had the connections with the welding shop. He jumped in ahead of me! BUT the kicker was there were a few things wrong, one was the finished height. After his was all done, he wasn’t able to open his bed tool box completely if there was something on the rack! 😆

I'm currently about 2-3 mos back ordered for everything I make, and I'm getting ready for the Wannamacher show in Tulsa, April 1-2.
I make a walking stick with a weighted end, and a 12 in blade concealed in the in the top half, and gotta make about a dozen of them and work knives in as well.
Shoot me a PM with contact info, and I'll add you to the list.

I bought a lotta desert ironwood a few years ago. Oily, shrink resistant, hard as hell. That's probably what I'll use.

My daughter works in a high end Kitchen downtown Charleston. I bought her a couple Takamura MG2 and VG-10 Japanese Chef knives. Not super high end, but, Compared to the crap she had at culinary school, is night and day difference.

The holes drilled in the tangs are for 2 reasons. To lighten it up a little, and to allow the epoxy to go through, making a tighter bond.

All of the blades have a tapered tang as well.

I called the 1 800 #, talked to a bot, and they swore that it was in Fort Walton Beach and would be delivered today. I left my # for updates.
Best I can do.
Best case scenario, at your residence in the next 48 hours, albeit late as hell.
Worse case scenario, thieving POS at USPS lifted the package, I send your $ back, I pitch a bitch with the USPS, file an insurance claim, remake the knife ASAP during the Blade Show crunch between now and June 2, and send it UPS, like I obviously should have done in the first place, cursing the .gov for once again ****ing me over.

They sell chef knife pouches, that are pretty cool. I’ll look into them, not sure if the big one would fit any of them. I do have my old leather tools/equipment from my tanning days as a kid! Or wood!
