When I was a ten year old in 1971, my friend's grandfather, whom he lived with, had a mint '57 Olds Rocket 88 2 door hardtop. Pink and white. With those really thick clear plastic seat covers over the seats that had turned slightly yellow. Car was like new. When I asked Al why he bought a pink car brand new, he defended it and said his late wife had picked the color, and that it wasn't pink....it was 'Desert Rose'. Would have loved to have gotten that car a few years later but he passed away and it was gone.
