How is it we practically live like the Jetsons and vote like the Flintstones?

It's time for a change.

1) Register to vote
2) Receive single use "Voting gift card" 6-8 weeks before early voting.
3) Insert card in voting machine during early voting OR election day
4) Cast votes
5) Card is now inactive
6) Receive new card for next election cycle

That system doesn't account for absentee voting.

So it's OK to send the "voting gift card" through the mail but not the actual ballot? What's to stop someone from stealing the card from the mail, or taking the card mailed to a dead person's registered address, and using that to cast a fraudulent vote?

According to some, block chain is the answer. You computer geeks need to get that ball rolling and to the net.

Exactly! Folks can now vote to get more public assistance without hardly having to leave that comfy recliner. Turn out the lights. It’s over folks.

Lets get back to what it used to be, only land/property owners

I still believe that there is quality life to be had in rural America.
Most suburbs have been corrupted.
And of course the cities are fubar.

This is the election map if only property owners are qualified to vote:

1) Register to vote - YES
2) Receive single use "Voting gift card" 6-8 weeks before early voting. - NO, too easy to fake
3) Insert card in voting machine during early voting OR election day - PAPER BALLOTS ONLY
4) Cast votes
5) Card is now inactive - Which a good hacker or DNC could figure out how to reactivate etc.
6) Receive new card for next election cycle

1. Vote on voting day
2. NO EARLY VOTING
3. NO MAIL IN BALLOTS
4. Make voting day a holiday and polls open 24 hours
5. All poll observers picked like jury every cycle so everyone has skin in the game as least once in their lives.
6. ID to vote
7. PAPER BALLOTS ONLY
8. I'd even like the thumb in blue ink.

You don't even need a blockchain, although that certainly wouldn't hurt.

Digital signatures already provide iron-clad authentication and non-repudiation. When you register to vote you generate a public+private key pair; and your public key is stored along with your voter registration. Then when you vote you digitally sign your ballot using your private key before submitting it. The registrar of voters verifies your ballot using your public key already on file with them. Voila! You can only vote once, and once signed your ballot cannot be changed by anyone without being detected - as long as your private key remains private.

Extend electoral college to states so that one shithole city can't overthrow the will of the entire state. So for instance say you have 100 counties and each gets one vote to cast based upon how the majority of the population within that county voted. This will eliminate the ability of criminal hotspots like Detroit, Chicago, and Philidelphia to alter elections through fraud.

When you vote there should be no party affiliation in the ticket. This like some local elections forces people to know who they are voting for.

How about just properly manage the system you have.

There is no standardized system.

There doesn't have to be, and wouldn't want one if it meant federal control.

It’s totally sickening that the overpopulated cities dictate the politics for the overwhelming geographical majority.

ONLY mail in ballots will be Military ( let the military be responsible for getting them there on time)

The only other allowance for a mail in ballot would be with a signed doctor's exception. If fraud is confirmed, the doctor loses his license permanently with NO CHANCE to get it back.

So if you’re a civilian working at an offshore military base, in an embassy in a foreign country, etc. you aren’t allowed to vote? Sure, makes perfect sense.

Sure that person can vote. Providing he is a property owner and tax payer.

If I don't get my card at the correct time, I call it in and have it cancelled. Same thing I'd do if a credit card or gift card was sent to me and I didn't get it.

Hey, all good if you like the current system. I'm not a big fan of voter fraud and huge ballot dumps.

Subject to revision, that was my first draft.

Basically to cut out the bullshit / poor excuses some folks use right now.

Understood, and I agree. That said, after serving in the military and working in many other countries, it’s not that simple. I was a property owner most of those years.
