Powerball rolled from last night, Saturday is next draw.

Estimated today at $.5 BILLION.
I predict by Saturday night it will be $1.7 BILLION, or higher.
At $1.7B you get about 50% Lump Sum / Cash Value, those with IQ over 3 underswtand why annuity is not an option.

If you are single winner and live in FL, you can estimate at $1.7B X 50% and 37% for fed taxes with NO STATE TAXES--Again, FL is badarse in ALL THINGS!!

So on Sunday morning you now have to figure out what to do with your $535M.
I will stay humble and just get an extra side at KFC to celebrate.

What would you do??

Would attend party, unless thrown by Paul Pelosi, of course.

Okay, I lied.
I would be a major prick, one guy in here is a great template.

I would build a 50,000 sqft house on 100+ acres, have a 100-car garage, at least 10 lifts for projects and mods, and a full-time mechanic--I know a dood.
Would have two bars in the house, separated but joined by 10,000+ Macallan Collection.
One bar would be western-themed, mostly bourbon and beers on tap, Eastwood on the walls.
The other bar would be Scottish, single malts only, dart board and a hint of golf decor.

Home theatre with one permanent seat, others can bring in the fold-up ones from the lobby, only Westerns, Mafia and War Movies, the oldies not the recent crap.

I would have at least 20 dogs, they would all sleep in my bedroom, each would have they own bed along a single wall, NO DAMN CAGES.

Lastly I would have a urinal in the master bath, and one of those spritzer dohickees under the toilet so I can tell people I never wipe my arse.

On the 100+acres I would have a burnout asphalt circle at least 50' diameter and at least a 1/8 mile, not sure if a 1/4 would fit.

Do not need a private jet, as no need to visit anyone or anyplace, all can come to me.
Boats, NOPE, too big a headache, I would rather spend the money on cars.

Cars would be only Chevys, Fords and Mopar, do not need euro-trash stinking up my garage, would have at least a dozen '63s, as hey, why stop at one.

Yeah, I am a simple, humble dood!!

THAT $$$ or even 10% of that, I would pay off a house for both of my kids.....

ASSuming they keep it in their names.....

Get a new car for each and their S/O's.......

put a tun in their bank accounts, AND set up my wife for life.......

then divvy up the rest evenly among the above folks....

keeping a meg or so for myself.....

Hookers and Blow, a week at Universal Studios, order a Zr1 and hope to get on the list for the Zora if it gets made, couple trips to the titty bar, and I'd buy a 54' Aquila power catamaran to cruise to carribbean for a couple of years. :yesnod:

Pay my house off. Give all my immediate family members a million. Fix up the house a little and maybe buy a new Z06. See how much I can get away with before being fired. That's about it.

I would definitely send my boss a condolences card that says "I'm so sorry for your loss." On the inside will be a picture of me and a quick note saying "Consider this my notice. I'm going wheels up and getting outta here."

Massive donations to St Jude's and Tunnel to Towers.
Month vacation somewhere tropical
Purchase a vehicle or two, nothing crazy
Go find some acreage, 500 acres or so, build my own little playland for shooting, ATVs, that kind of stuff.

Let's see. Lowballing at $1.5B - 35% taxes, leaves about $975Million. Divide by 20 yrs, that's about $48Million, per year!!

Paying off our debts, paying off our friend's debts, huge chunks for charity, STILL leaves us with plenty to play with.

I can handle that!!

Ok, well that's ONLY $32.5Million per year. Still doable... IMHO.

I really would not do anything that I’m not already going to do. 500M would make some of it easier. And I’d probably upgrade a few things along the way.

:nono: It's a 30 year annuity.

It's a 29 year annuity, as you get the first payment immediately, and then one every year for another 29 years.

No one takes the annuity, for one reason, which is for 2022 he highest individual tax bracket is 37%.
In future years no one can predict if this will increase, if I were a betting man I would tell you it will never go lower, and that given our every-increasing National Debt, tax rates for high earners could be 50+% in very near future years.

Any CPA or Financial Advisor will tell you to take it all UPFRONT, avoid future tax rate increases and benefit by investing the full amount of your winnings for a yearly return which, after taxes, will provide a very comfortable living WITHOUT TOUCHING PRINCIPAL.

Also, my input, you could die tommorow, so live every day like it is your last, especially if you are a jackpot winner!!

Once told my old boss if I won the lotto I wouldn't quit but I'd be much harder to manage. He said if I was any harder to manage he'd fire me lotto or no lotto.

That was then... this is now. I'd quit. Oh, wait I quit 7 years ago. Never mind.

Estimated Powerball just increased to $1.6 BILLION.

So, if you are fortunate enough to live in a great state like FLORIDA with no state taxes:

You get $783 cash upfront, less 37% taxes (I believe you only pay 25% at the time you take the lump sum, the remainder, estimated at an addtional 12% for tax year 2022, is paid when you file--that is a long discussion), nets you $494 MILLION.

If, and probably a good-betting if, it hits $1.8 BILLION, in FL you would net $556 MILLION.

I have rethought my selfishness, I would probably donate all to The Onebadcad Charity Network for Broken Hookers.

I love the comments of "I would pay off my house, I would pay off the kids house"....Fuk that.....Id just leave the doors unlocked and just walk away from anything I currently own with maybe the exception of my Gasser project. With a billion bucks I would buy everything new for me and the kid. Plus give a mil to my ex GF and each of her kids. That's just for starters....

AND...YES I bought tickets....:D

Leaving the property open and walking away does not relieve you of liability. A better approach would be to quit claim title of the property to someone and remove yourself from ownership and the liabilities and responsibilities that comes with it. :cert:

I’d still work…but it wouldn’t be for anyone but myself. I’d do the things I’ve wanted to do and never look for a dime in repayment for any goods that may leave my possession. I’d have hundreds of acres somewhere there is a heathy deer/elk/moose population and a couple of fun projects on four wheels. I’d also have the space to utilize those fun projects on my own property. I’d vacation regularly, and take care of those who have taken care of me, never asking for anything in return. I’ve been very unfortunate and fortunate in the same breath. Those folks deserve more than I can ever repay monetarily.

My fellow workers all chipped in $2 so we'll have $60 worth of tickets. I spent $10 myself.

$12 isn't going to break me and besides, I figure it's a 50/50 chance of winning.

You either win or lose. :yesnod:
