View Full Version : Do You Ever Get Frustrated At Inanimate Objects?
I bought this Epson middle of the line color printer 2 years ago, I don't do much printing, but it's nice to have one when you need it. Because of the printer software, I'm kind of locked in to its operation.
So I get this notice from Epson to upgrade the printer functioning, which will only take a minute, Download function locks up at 5%, won't go any further. Cancel, repeat, after several times, same thing. So the cancel or exit (X), esc, won' allow me to exit, it's stuck. So I have to do a Cntr Alt Del to get it to go away. Next time I tried to get it to do its job, same thing, but a drop box appears saying I have to buy ink now, can't get rid of that either.
I look at the printer, all the site bowls are full of ink. The printer has been printing eratic with some not so good quality printing.
I chucked that Epson to the pile for a dump run. I purchased a HP Office Jet Pro, a little overkill for my needs, Wi-Fi controlled, works great.
To make a long story short, I will take this Marlin (now with 25 round mag) and put 25 holes into the Epson before it goes to the dump.
Not since I turned about 30 years old. Now 61. You need to be 5% smarter than the equipment you are working with. Getting upset never helps. I have been know to walk away, post on Vette Barn for a few minutes, and get back to it, and all goes smoothly. Especially if there were any new Yadkin or StorytellerStealth posts to catch up on.

Absolutely, a good busting up of a piece of shit product is occasionally warranted. At 75, I don't give a shit.

Yes. I will DESTROY a piece of shit that won't do, go, fit, bend, attach or otherwise cooperate. I'd rather replace it than fk with it forever.

I have a Weedeater and a leaf blower that make me laugh every time I think about it. I obliterated them. Beat them on a concrete patio like I was driving railroad spikes.

When I was young. Kicked things when they made me mad. Broken toe cured me of that.
Had a friend that owned a C2 back in the early 80's. Went over to his place and found him changing spark plugs. He got so mad at the car that he stabbed the fender with a screwdriver (super hard). Took that as a hint to leave, didn't want to be next LOL.

I have a special hammer just for such items. It may be a 10lb sledge.
Fyi ink jets suck and HP are the worst. You will regret that purchase.

All the ****ing time. Especially extension cords. No matter how careful you coil them up, even the fancy coiling methods, the ****ing things ALLWAYS tangle up.

I bought the wife a convertible Mercedes that was a lemon. I buried it in the backyard and collected the insurance money.
OK, this made me laugh.

No, never had any rage.
I remember growing up someone would park a junk car at a popular place in town and charge people to take a sledge hammer to it. Seemed to be a popular thing back then.
A new biz. opened up here called a Rage Room.
They have different rooms you can go into and beat the crap out of electronics like that or tear shit up. I guess some people need to get it out of their system every now and again.

I had an Epson inkjet printer/copier/scanner - it had in-depth calibration tweaks, the software had useful image adjustments. It worked fantastic, made excellent scans and great color prints with really accurate color for an inexpensive inkjet printer until it stopped printing. Apparently with that generation if it wasn't used regularly and the ink cartridge was allowed to dry out they were done, there was no clearing the ink feed tubes. There was someone who had an online tutorial to resurrect that series of printer with a specific kind of Windex because it was a chronic known problem with that printer but it didn't work for me.
I got pissed at a female one time and obliterated a payphone handpiece slamming it down on the receiver. Left the lower half just dangling.
Not mad at it but I had to get rid of the ten buck and slug loads in the house gun.(Then put in new after a good cleaning!) Took out my older computer and let fly. Lets just say it was well destroyed before I took it to the recycle center.
As far as throwing tools, on occasion back in the 60s I was known to throw a tool if pissed at something. My buddy said I could probably hold the distance record in ratchet tossing!. As I got a bit older and supposedly more mature I stopped throwing things but I most certainty let out a good long sting of profanity!

Even better, you could invite your friends to bring their guns over and make a range party out of it.

My boss just provided all 3 of us in the office with new cordless keyboards and mice... soft touch, padded keys and a non-adjustable 4 minute window where after no use the effing things go to sleep... I miss the first letter or mouse click a million times a week and I swear on my last day of work I will smash both pieces of shit underfoot on my way out the door.

This.
Respect the manufacturer. He has to make product to survive.
