View Full Version : [CFB] Week 6 2022 College Football Game Day Thread [/CFB]
WEEK 6
We've got another great slate of games this week. Things kick-off at Noon EST with the Red River Shootout between Oklahoma and Texas at the Cotton Bowl. A little luster is lost with neither team being ranked and OU looking absolutely pathetic as of late, but this game is usually nuts. Hopefully we get another classic. Also at Noon is the biggest game in the Big XII, #17 TCU @ #19 Kansas. That's right, 6 weeks in and TCU and Kansas are unbeaten and ranked. Winner of this game becomes one of the front-runners to make the Big XII title game along with Oklahoma State.
The PAC has a ranked match-up with #11 Utah @ #18 UCLA. Chip Kelly's squad is rolling at 5-0. Utah has to win out to keep their playoff hopes alive with that UF loss looking worse and worse.
The 3rd ranked match-up happens in the SEC . . . .
GAME OF THE WEEK: #8 Tennessee @ #25 LSU
Tennessee's offense is once again lighting things up under Josh Heupel. They'll face their toughest test on the road in Death Valley against an LSU team that keeps improving every week under Brian Kelly, and is coming off conference wins against Mississippi State and Auburn. Will LSU's defense and the best home field advantage in football be enough to slow Tennessee down? Hopefully this clash of styles gives us an exciting game.

Maybe usc jr. will be able to beat the most overrated team in college Kentucky this Saturday.

Kentucky is going to destroy us. They're legit, and should have beaten Ole Miss last week. They're easily the 2nd best team in the East behind Georgia.

They'll rebuild, a lot of teams have down years. OU has a reputation so they'll get good players again. But to lose to Texas at home like that.

venables was given $42M contract for 6 years, if he is one and DONE, it is gonna cost the alum some serious money.
While the buyout would be huge(r), I think ou will do it if they are not bowl-eligible, and based on Saturday that could happen.
One and DONE would be brutal, but coaches should weigh all things before taking the job, especially the palyers' talent level, as IMO the coaching is not the biggest factor for a first-year coach.

a&m, ranked 6th in preseason, sits at 3-3, my neighbor, a&m grad, wants jimbo shitcanned, his 10-year extension last year was for $95M, he is in first year, the 10 years were FULLY GUARANTEED, the buyout is $86M--suckas!!
Keep in mind he has unlimited coaches / assistant salaries, they play 8 home games/year, their athlectic budget and facilities are second to none, their stadium upgrade was $200+M, and they land probably 75% of the five-star and four-star recruits they purse, their NIL contract money is probably greater than any other school.
poor jimbo only has the guy in the mirror to blame,,,
