Me, I watch Southpark and and start cooking 25lbs of Roma tomatoes into marinara sauce.

Gotta put the basil stalks in the jars, pour sauce in, then boil the jars to seal them. Gonna be some good stuff

And yes, I know I am a messy cook. Will clean the stove after I'm finished boiling the jars.

On a electric stove? What could possibly go wrong? :confused5:

The last bad one, I spent the day getting furniture up off the ground and moving lighter things upstairs. Then stayed up for about 48 hours watching the water rise to within INCHES of the top of my foundation. Lots of fun. I'd rather have been cooking. :D

Wife's a weather junkie and her sister always comes up during a storm so the two of them get so worked up listening to the "worst case" "extinction event" news reports that I ust go somewhere and read and then do a safety check on the property about twice a day...

Reroute power to the office to be able to continue to work for an infinite amount of time.

It's not as profitable, but it's a little more stable given the current weather events.

I like to go outside every 10 to 15 minutes just to make sure there are no major damages to the cars and trees and roof, and then I head inside for a beer to celebrate my manliness, and then repeat.
By the end of the storm I am passed out on the couch, with the wifey in my ear reminding me I am a dumbarse, and to get up to clean all the tree parts off the driveway and lawn.

You will need to swap back quickly. Those creatures will be jonesing hard after 36-48 hours.

Snowstorms:
I'm usually out helping neighbors with our snowblower or helping out the elderly clear a path down their driveway

Hurricanes:
1st time (aside from a baby Cat 1) went to my Dad's in Beaufort, SC and grilling steaks and drinking scotch

My wife took some meat out of the freezer this morning so I could grill when the power goes out. I told her that's not the way it works!

SHIT!

I have to empty the jars and re-simmer the sauce. Guess who the big dummy is that forgot to add in wine while simmering the batches I made yesterday and today. San Sesbastian Vinter's Red incase anyone is wondering.

I wait for the thaw out on a full moon night in the Rocky Mountain winter. That's what I do.

If we are in town, hang-out with siblings and sling-shot/blow dart shoot off the deck. Then have a big quail feast.

Come snowfall the little bastages stick-out like a sore thumb.

What happens to the skins?

When I do sauce I toss the tomatoes in a blender first. That obliterates the skins and seeds.

Much flooding by you? :waiting:

Nope. A little right on the river (west side of the island). Most of the island is higher than any storm surge, with many 200+ year old houses and other buildings. We’ve had power all day, less than 2” of rain and 30-ish mph winds. The eye is 100 miles offshore of here now and it’s quickly moving away. :seasix:
