Toward the end of the Sunday service, the Minister asked, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?" 80% held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one man, an avid golfer named Walter Barnes, who attended church only when the weather was bad.

"Mr. Barnes, it's obviously not a good morning for golf. It's good to see you here today. Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"
"I don't have any," he replied gruffly.

"Mr. Barnes, that is very unusual. How old are you?"

"Ninety-eight," he replied. The congregation stood up and clapped their hands.

"Oh, Mr. Barnes, would you please come down in front & tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years & not have an enemy in the world?"

The old golfer tottered down the aisle, stopped in front of the pulpit, turned around, faced the congregation, and said simply, "I outlived all them MF'ers."

Living good (and I reckon in Mr. Barnes' case, living for a long time ) is the best revenge!,

Not one, not nohow, not ever. I do, however, watch the little bastards more closely than I do my friends.

Same here. I might play nice, but deep down I hold a grudge..... and never forget in case the need arises.

How can they be enemies if you forgive them? Bastards earned the title - they would have to do something damned impressive to get off the shit list.

As for myself, a little poetic justice, what comes a round goes around type of thing.

My first wife's second husband just up and left her, couldn't handle all her "issues". She left me for him. Now she's a sixty year old lonely woman........LOL.............LOL.............LOL.

I do have to tone it down around the two boys we had, have to be civil about it, but oh, that feeling of satisfaction, yes sir..........

I prefer to just banish them from my life. They don't deserve to be part of it! :slap:
