dropped off Linda for an appointment, then went and ran some errands for her/us.

first stop: local Library, to return 2 books in their outside book return bins. pull up, no one there, as i was there before they opened, no problem. I park, and before I can get out, cop car pulls up and parks somewhat behind me. uh oh.

get out, go toward the return bins, and he's focused on someone napping next to the building. hmmm...interesting.

so I keep back about 5-7 yards, watch the whole interaction happen. cop wakes him up and tells him it is time to go. bum wakes up, gathers his stuff, and shuffles off. good.

get back in my car, get the cop's attention, and tell him I was watching his 6. thanks. you have a good day sir.

Only one bum? Must be a nice neighborhood then.

The stuff cops have to deal with...

Clearly not CA or NY. If it was NY the bum would have robbed, hit and sued the cop and had no bail release regardless of history.

A place for knowledge. You wouldn't understand.

Library?

Daytime homeless shelter most locations in a city now.. With free internet.

Main library downtown looks like an old bus station so many crackheads and bums half the time.

I don't rememberarmed guards at library whej I was a kid.

Local public library has a small contingent of homeless who come and go for the free internet and lately, I suspect, the AC. The few I have seen have been a better behaved crowd, possibly because it is close to a city police outpost
