Can anyone identify this car?

It belonged to a friend of mine’s grandfather, an old Destin, FL sea captain. He’s in the foreground. I’m guessing this was taken in the 1950s.

He lived from 1900-1974.

My dad had a 48 like that when I was a kid - his work car - called it PUTSIE ... thing was a tank - we used to plow thru snow drifts ....good times.
