Escaped with no injuries, other than the customers dining room chair taking the beating!

I'm in a clients home getting some documents signed, and here the husband decides to let in the full grown Boxer.....The mut comes straight for me growling , barking and snapping! I quickly got up from the chair and whacked the bastage which gave the owner enough time to grab him! Then the damn collar slips off it's neck and he's again in attack mode snapping at my leg and trying the bite my hand.....Again, I grab the chair keeping it between me and this damn dog, as I backed out the door.....

Why they let this dog into the house while I was there I'll never know.....? But JC!

Man, I'm lucky not to have a few extras holes in me! And I'm a dog lover! Boxers are one of THE most protective dogs that I have ever encountered!!!

My BP had to be 200/150!:yesnod:

I've been called a dog whisperer, and some people have actually bought my wears simply because their dogs loved me.....

This wasn't the first time a Boxer was aggressive towards me.....

As one who has had 7 Boxers total, I’m actually quite surprised to hear this, as they are commonly known as one of the friendliest/family-oriented breeds in dogdom. Another friend has had 15 total, and never an issue. Conversely, I’ve actually heard of this happening more with Dobermans and German Shepherds.

Perhaps this particular one is not very well trained or has a screw loose.

Boxers aren't the brightest star on the intelligence curve where dogs are concerned. Knew one my brother had for a decade and every time I went over to his place that thing always acted like I was a stranger. I like smart dogs, stupid ones not so much.

Speaking of Dobermans :D Sold a nice stud to a lady who invited me over to see her first litter. The bitch kept back a good 15 feet or so guarding the rest of the litter and seemed intent to stay there. Was looking at the pup the lady was holding (no intention of touching it) when I noticed a slow moving shadow on the ground out of the corner of my eye. Turned my head to look and caught the bitch creeping on me. As soon as we locked eyes she lunged for my inner thigh. Caught her in the ear with an 18" long right cross. Almost ripped my pinky finger off as it caught on my pants pocket. Her mouth wrapped around my inner thigh but she had no consciousness left to clamp down. She was down hard and I backed up a few steps ready for round two. A few seconds later the stood up, shook her head, turned around and slinked away. Was still shaking her head the whole walk of shame like she couldn't believe what just happened

Sometimes you just gotta show a dog who's the boss... That would be me.

Your customers are idiots. My GSD is very nice and friendly. Whenever someone is coming over to the house for a business reason, she goes in her crate. There really is no reason for the dog to be out.

The contractor and plumber I have used for years are also part of my social circle, so they have met her and hung out at my house with her numerous times, and know Belle well. When they come over to do work for me, guess what? Belle goes in her crate.

Nope, it was on full attack mode even before the husband let it in...The wife was like, don't worry, it will bark at you but it'll be ok.....

IMO, I'd vote for "overly aggressive behavior" in Boxers that I've met....I will say, each incident I've been with the wife of the house. They become crazy protective! A small handshake set off one years ago, leaped at my arm, mouth opened ready to chomp!

Yes you have to show who's the boss. There was no time here to do that.....Dobes truly get a bad rap. Of all the ones I've owned and bred, not a single incident. My current female was socialized for her first 8 months once a week with 30=/- puppies, of all types. One of her nicknames is Kisses!

Unless surgically altered any dog can be brought down to the ground if you can get one or both of their paws and squeeze like your life depends on it......when let go they will run off.
Side note....I love most dogs and would never hurt one unless I needed to......I have been bitten 6 times and once had to get 14 rabie shots in stomach and still own dogs.

This grabbing the paw might work after the dog has a hold of you....but no chance would I have gotten to a paw here without life lasting scares...

Fellow pilot in El Paso (Black Guy) got a white Shepard and named him Pimp. He and I were good friends hanging out at each house for dinner and such so I got to see Pimp on a regular basis as it grew up

Cliff also had his circle of friends that I never met much. Maybe a year or so later when pimp was full grown and very protective of the house and not a fan of white people. I went over one afternoon on the weekend to get something.

One of his friends came to the door and didn't know me but let me in and warned me about the dog who was out back at the moment. He didn't know I basically raised pimp also from a pup.

Cliff came in along with Pimp running full speed at me and barking away and we both went into a wrestling match on the floor turning onto a belly rub scaring the shit out of his guests

Well adjusted GSDs are friendly and predictable. I have had rescue GSDs for 20 years and they never became aggressive with strangers. Sure, they would bark if someone came to the door, but once I opened it, they would be fine.

The two we have now love people and kids... they think everyone is there to pet them.

As I said earlier, it's all about training. And I agree with you in that it's not right to generalize the entire breed. I'd be a hypocrite as I love Dobes! Again to repeat above dogs are a great judge of character, but not in this case. The dog never "met" me or even sniffed my scent. I think it was younger but a full grown, never trained large Boxer. Not in its home environment, and on protect mode, before the husband let it in (this was the mistake)....I've met and interacted with thousands of dogs and 99.9 % of the time all goes well.

The dining room chair as I said took the blow and ended up with a damaged leg, better than my leg getting ripped open!:D

No, I just don't often feel like writing a book to make a simple point. I've owned a boxer.

Haven't had a problem with either of those breeds. I even get along with wolf dog crossbreeds and those are kind of suspect to me. Not partial to Saint Bernards myself but I still give them the opportunity to be judged as individuals. My prejudice is that for some reason I want to like them, they just don't want to like me.

Have faced down many attacking dogs in the past, never been bit. They've all backed down. Seems none want to die as bad as they thought given enough time to think about it... Buy the book if you want to know more :D
