That’s a very good question. Reminds me of guitar sales. “Plays like butter.” Huh?

The kind where someone has not swapped out the instrument cluster for one with lower miles OR rolled it back. My old charger has about 90,000 original miles, but the odometer has a lot of "unoriginal" miles on it because it came from a junkyard car.

back in the day a friend of mine used to roll back odometers  probably much harder to do these days.

That's another one; back in the day. Back in WHAT day? 10 years ago? 20? 30?

Dead hooker, live hooker...same smell.
OK, funny answers, but no one has the right one.
Many of us are old enough to remember when car odometers weren't digital, and back then, many only had 5 places plus a tenth of a mile place. So at 99,999.9, if your car made it that far, once it rolled over, whatever was showing was no longer "original miles," meaning, the odometer had rolled over. So you'd differentiate between a car with 140,000 miles and 40,000 miles by saying, car has 40,000 ORIGINAL miles.

Not after a few hours in the trunk in a Houston Summer. I mean I've always heard that. I mean, not that I would know anything about that. I mean....shit. Nevermind.

That one makes *some* semblance of sense. But 'back in the day' is too arbitrary. I've heard 30 somethings say back in the day. Back in WHAT day you're ****in' 12 years old.
