I buy it at the Dollar Tree and mix a bunch in and watch the show....Birds are not affected at all and it is a source of vitamin C....squirrels and deer.....well they don't come back

I just tried this last week. Didn't bother the birds at all, but didn't bother the squirrels either. I put 3 tablespoons mixed into a little over a pound of feed, too. They ate that shit up. They even managed to knock the feeder over and made a huge mess on the ground, then feasted on it! I hate the little ****ers!

Guess I'm lucky here, the squirrels just eat the deer corn and seeds that fall to ground from feeders the birds and guineas don't eat. I put 4 to 6 ears of corn put couple times a week, guy planted deer corn last year in the field next door so it was free just picked up what harvester missed.

It’s fun watching the raccoons eat this.
.
This is the leftover carnage from the little bastards. You can see the brownish stain still evident from the cayenne pepper!

I add much more than that to the seed...go to Dollar Tree and but a bunch of it...it works but not with that small amount
Squirrels here just take the leftovers on the ground and dried corn we throw out. The big kids on the block are the magpies, flickers and jays. They would mess a squirrel up if it was up on the feeder. We had a magpie chase a coyote off of a kill last year:rofl: Also, I think that the squirrels here have some sort of predilection to not be a pinata for all the hawks and eagles that hang around. Bears are snoozing now, so we don't have to worry about them messing up our bird area.

I haven't seen a magpie in decades.

We have a "family" of about a dozen or so. I never saw one until here in the Rockies. They're actually pretty big for a yard bird. When the family comes in, they basically clear the place. They can empty a cylinder in less than a day. I'll try and get some pics:seasix:
