had to go to applebees today

Normally, I wouldn't set foot in one because of their boring food and menus. Anyhow I did. The service was good and the salad was not bad, nothing to get excited about at all.

But, I was near a speaker. Actually, there are speakers everywhere and they were blaring the top 100 hits of American Idol. It could have been the top 10 hits as they pretty much all sound the same.

I call it "white boy blues" (or girls). Just a bunch of whining. They use multiple voices or trios to cover up for no talent at all. One particular song had the effect like a "skipping" CD, where the lyrics or music was repeated in fast succession. I just about jumped outa my chair with the knife they provide to find the damn manager. Fortunately, I calmed down.

If, you have the poor luck to go there, listen to the damn music.

One of my former students is a cook there. He refuses to eat there. They are also overpriced. I can just as easily microwave food at home.

Talk about a crappy experience - having to go to an Applebees and then having to listen to glorified karaoke. That would truly suck.
