View Full Version : Island14: His oldest son is not doing well

Over the past few weeks his health has been diminishing and the doctors on the island where they live have been treating the symptoms. However, Chico (13) has not been getting any better. This past Tuesday, Tim's wife Irish decided to take Chico to Cebu (neighboring big island) where they could go to a good hospital to see what was happening.

Since that time, his health has diminished quite a bit. The doctors have diagnosed him with rheumatic heart disease and they are treating him best they can. Unfortunately, they are saying that if the medicines do not work, they are going to have to do surgery to repair his heart valves.

Please pray for this young man, he needs all the help he can get at this time.

Rheumatic nothing to sneeze at either, my sister had scarlet fever and became paralyzed temporarily (scarlet fever or strep causes rheumatic) and can cause heart valve scaring. My sister dragged herself down a long hallway to my room as a kid to wake me. Wasa long recovery for her but she wasn't a healthy child.
Good news is penicillin and other antibiotics treat it and is very recoverable from.
Praying the young man recovers without need for surgery.
