As the year ends, so does my career. I marked my 40th anniversary in June, 50th wedding anniversary in July and retire at the end of the year. If i count carrying newspapers and mowing lawns, i guess I’ve had some kind of job for 60+ years. Looking forward to casual Friday every day! :datawiz:

Retired 14 years for me. Started gas stations as a teen, college, mechanic for Studebaker,
wound up in the phone company after 3 yrs in Army and finally pulled the plug in 2007.
Corporate crap and political correctness ruined it finally.
I've been blessed with health and family and my faith.
Sounds like you're ready and thought it through!
Casual Friday every day for you! For me, every day is Saturday.

Retired over 11 years ago. Started bullying kids for lunch money and ended up being a loan shark.

Congratulation OP. Happy New Year.:hurray:

Been retired from my union pipfitter job for a while. It will be 21 years this summer. Worked major overtime and was able to take full retirement at age 55. ( I think that my profession is why I have so many health problems)

I know a lot of people hate unions but I played my cards right and earned a very good pension, SS and have great health insurance.

Retired in 2013 after 35 years at the Railroad. Retirement is the coolest thing in the world. Wake up every day and do whatever you want...it don't get no better.

Enjoy yourself you earned it.

Congrats! At some point in the future, you’re going to realize you don’t know what day of the week it is…don’t let it bother you, ‘cause it doesn’t matter.

I actually care, only because I won't leave the house on the weekends. Nothing like having the Depot or Lowes all to myself on a Tuesday afternoon. Wife got me a large gift cert to purchase a rifle, but I won't step in the store until next week.:seasix:
