These assholes screwed me two Christmases in a row on gifts for my wife, and would have again a 3rd time this year if I hadn't kept a close eye on them.

MFers changed a gift I ordered for the Mrs. last week to "backordered" and the estimated arrival to mid January AFTER I added it to my cart AND checked out with it being listed as available and to arrive this week.

F***ing pricks.

3 strikes and you're out.

:skep:

you give your wife a gift card? couldn't you just give her the checkbook?

Nah, fancy kitchen stuff.

I discovered another similar merchant last week called Sur la Table when I was searching online for a discontinued item I wanted to get my mom. That transaction went smoothly so I'm going to try using them now. Already re-ordered the item I wanted for the Mrs. from their site today, hopefully this one goes smoothly too and I'll have a reliable go-to merchant for this sort of stuff.

W/S is one of my favorite places to shop.

I walk in, pick out what I want, pay for it and walk out.

Never had a problem.

Amazon has done something similar 4 times to me.

Order in the next 4 hours and 37 minutes and have it tomorrow. I'll order it and the next day, when it should be delivered, I'll get a notification that my shipment is arriving tomorrow.

They've been shuttering physical stores. We live in the middle of nowhere, and the one I used to be able to walk into when we visit family in Jacksonville, FL closed despite being in THE prime shopping area.

They suck at online retail. Good riddance.

That has happened so many times to me, that I ignore the estimated delivery date.

Ah, well I see your point. Certain things I prefer to shop in person for. :cert:

Actually saw that in the WS today:rofl:

I dropped about 5 hundie on a nice mandolin and some Le Creuset and other stuff. They were incredibly friendly. I usually spend an hour or so just looking around.

First World problems.

I got my first ever potato masher when I inherited one from my grandparents. And now that I'm an orphan, I have a second one I inherited from my parents. Having said that, virtually all my kitchen stuff is actually made in America, including both of my blenders.

We quite going/shopping at W-S a few years back. Mostly over expensive crap that could be had elsewhere for a lot less. They used to have good stuff, not anymore.

Couch hell.. More like the floor after she wings a cup at me. Don't worry I'll never remember it. Amnesia is your friend.

Sur la Table has already shipped the item and given me a tracking number.

Congratulations, you get all the sales of overpriced kitchen items for the Mrs.' birthday and Christmas gifts every year from now on.

This isn't rocket science, Williams Sonoma loses a reliable repeat customer because they're simply unprofessional, disrespectful, and lazy.
