Eagles and Hawky McHawkerson.
Beautiful as always, Thomas! I especially like the one with the eagle reflected on the water. I bet you have to hunker down and remain still for an extended period of time to get these shots.

The water is too ripply.
Couldn't you get one when the water is glass?
Other than that :D

Great pics
We have all kinds of birds on our golf course. I love watching them as we play.
Bald Eagles
Ospreys (Sea Eagles)
Red Tail Hawks
Owls (several species)
Egrets (several species)
Wood Storks
Spoonbills
I am sure there are others.
I have seen ospreys take fish from the ponds and marsh and hawks take rodents while on the course. It really adds a different level of enjoyment to being out there :seasix:

I don't have nearly enough Osprey shots. We have them here but nothing like Bald Eagles.
Sea Eagles are a different Rapor than Ospreys. I don't have ANY pictures of them.

My bad...Ospreys are referred to as Sea Hawks or Fish Hawks.
We have a ton of them here on the island. I saw one take a fish out of a marsh pond not 30 ft from where I was standing on the tee. We watched it take the fish up into a tree and proceed to have breakfast. Awesome to watch

Their is a guy I follow named Mark Smith. I believe he’s in Florida. Anyway, this guy get some of the best Osprey shots and video I’ve ever seen. Wherever his spot is, it’s crawling with those things.

The Red Tails here are so used to humans, I have been able to walk up within 20 feet or so. They will let you get close and the they give you the look. “Come any closer and I will **** you up”
I consider our bird population one of the true gems of belonging to our club

That’s odd because around here, while there are plenty of Red Tails, you can’t get even close to them and they fly away.

I shit you not, I once got within about 10 feet of one. It was sitting on the marker post at one of the tee boxes. I pulled up in my cart and it just stared at me until I got out of the cart. They are not afraid of people down here.
In CO, just like other animals, people who are not accustomed to the raptors think they're cute. I had a Golden Eagle fly about 8 feet over my head and I'm pretty sure that thing could absolutely f me up. Love to see the folks get their ass whooped by an elk because they wanted to make friends. Don't get me started about the Bison...

I'd be curious what drives this regional difference in behavior because around here you'll flush a Hawk by pointing a camera at it.
I see a lot of variation in Bald Eagles. The ones that have built nests in more urban areas are MUCH more tolerant that those in rural areas. I know of a few nests that are in awesome locations from a photographers perspective but the residents spook at the slightest thing. I just avoid those.

It's rare to see an eagle and a vulture hanging out together.
