Some of McDonald's stuff is ok (fries, Filet-O-Fish), but the McRib has to be one of the most disgusting things I've ever eaten there. Avoid at all cost, IMHO.

True story. I know some high-end chefs who consider McDonald’s their guilty pleasure. I was at a really good sushi restaurant that I frequent when one of the chefs came in with a big McDonald’s sack. The sushi chefs took turns going into the back, and I could see them chowing down on Big Macs.

Once I was invited to a blingy dinner at an expensive Hollywood restaurant. They bought out dish after dish, but each dish had a little dollop of something in the middle with some sauce and a piece of shrubbery with some fancy name like roast duck smothered in fois gras pate drizzled in aged Yak piss. The dinner took three and a half hours. As soon as I left, I went through the McDonald’s drive thru for a Big Mac and fries... I was hungrier when I left the restaurant than when I got there.

But they don't grill it until you order. Doesn't take much longer than any other fast food restaurant and 100% better.

As good as home-made, really.

I'm with you there. I'll have McDonald's lunch/dinner food if that is what the crowd at the time wants, but I wouldn't say I like it. I just try not to be a complete bitch in life. But I admit to a weakness for sausage McMuffin with egg. I had 2 a year ago after my colonoscopy, so they are really a special occasion kind of thing.

I was working in MCD when the McRib first came out. It was a frozen (cardboard look) brick with big diagonal groves. I made hundreds of those. I always go back and eat one for the hell of it. It's faster food just like all others, in this case, they use a different sauce.

In 1990 I actually was making more money in MCD, than Lance Corporal pay. On all bases off duty Marines work part-time in all fast food and PX stores. Go outside the gate, and they worked in Sears, pizza delivery, and once in a blue moon, you hear about that female who works at the titty bar.

My wife got a new car on December 31. All our get togethers were over so on New Years day she said lets go put a few miles on the car. We took off and at lunch time a lot of places were closed, so we pulled into a Mickey Dees.

Saw the sign on the counter showing a McRib so I said why not. It was OK nothing special. It did come with a lot of sharp onions and I like onions so that was fine

Like I said it was OK but nothing special, probably will not have another, as we hardly go to that chain much any way. I realy do not know what it was made of, perhaps that is a good thing:D, but I did not get sick or have any problems!
