Near Allentown, PA here checking in. Just another storm that'll eat up an hour of my morning, not much to see here. Might even be cold enough to need a coat. :D

I've said it for years, but folks won't listen. Here in NJ, believe it or not, we have SOME snow clearing equipment. No, it's not like Minnesota, or the great white North, but even with what we have, up to about 8" of snow should be a non-event. 9"-18" is a big mess for us, and yes folks are going to be late for work, and traffic will be difficult for a half day or so, but even that SHOULD not be all that big of a deal. Except that everyone around here loses their ****ing mind if it snows more than about an inch.

I think that in the half century plus that I have been alive, I have seen more than 18" of snow maybe 4 times, and I might even be exaggerating there.

I get a lot of sun in the morning being on the 5th floor, so my A/C has been running. Hummingbirds are still here. I did actually put on a sweatshirt with my shorts to go out this evening. Just miserably cold. Maybe only in the mid-60's the next few days.

Upstate NY. Yesterday hung the plow on my DD 4X4 pick up. Also have the NH tractor with bucket parked under the car port.

At this point it is now up to Ma Nature!-

Depending on what weather report you get we might get up to 2' of snow supposedly starting at about 6PM today. I have a long nasty, hilly, curved gravel driveway. (total distance with parking area is about 3/8 mile to handle the snow)

When we get it, freezing rain is the worst to handle as it involves a lot of hand sanding. So far we seem to be not in the rain area, they think it will be about 50 miles south!

I spoke to a friend in Binghamton NY this AM. He got 3.5 feet of snow. Left his laptop in the car and spent an hour shoveling to get to it so he could work.

Sanding by Hand - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VimO3U0NJoE)

Wish it was that easy!:D Go to the town hall shovel a shitload of sand into the back of the truck. Go home one person slowly moves the truck the other in back throws out shovelfuls of SAND! Worst case your the only person do both jobs. Long Driveway.

Wood sanding is easy!:hurray:

FWIW we got 18+ '' of snow!

I got about a foot of heavy wet snow that sticks to the shovel. My wife was smart, and parked at the end of the driveway last night, it still took me over an hour to shovel her out so she could go to work. When I finished that, I was drenched with sweat and feeling wiped out. An hour later, my neighbor came down with his snowblower, and did my whole driveway for me!

Beer will be provided!
