View Full Version : Prayer request ( bad home accident w/chainsaw )

Requesting prayers and good thoughts for my SIL Donna.
Somehow the chainsaw she was using jumped and cut her arm. It's been successfully reconstructed. :angel:
Details are few and far between right now as her husband Don is staying at her side in the hospital in the Baltimore area.
Hopefully the surgery is completely successful and she regains the use of her arm.
Thanks
Jeff & Mary ( Donna is my wife's sister )

better info now --edited original post
Cut was from the wrist area towards the elbow. ( not severed ) She's at home right now "really drugged up" according to Mary's mom

Wow. Hopefully she'll recover fully. Very scary!
Those damn chainsaws scare me - they can do a LOT of damage. My Father had one kick back and cut his neck years ago but thankfully it wasn't as bad as it looked with him covered in blood.
:sadangel::sadangel::sadangel:
Positive thoughts going out to your SIL - doctors can do some amazing things these days. I hope she regains the entire use of her arm and is back to 100% in no time.

Prayers sent your SIL's way.
I use a chain saw several times a year, but always think about what *could* happen in a blink of an eye. So sorry to hear that came true for your SIL.
Was she operating the saw or was her husband? About the only thing that would be worse than seeing your wife hurt herself is making a mistake and causing the accident yourself...

Prayers to her speedy recovery but I would like to add that a chainsaw is a dangerous piece of equipment.
Better left in the hands of a man, that way when the man cuts his leg off the woman can take can of him.

The complete ironic turn in this is that Donna is a nurse. Her husband is a retired LEO/ sheriff and took care of her so that she did make it.

when I was 16 and working in a hardware store refund counter, I had a guy throw one at me...it wasn't running or anything, but he bought it, used it and then wanted his money back and i told him "sorry"
he was pissed.

Damn! :willy: :willy:
Best of luck to her. :angel:
I've spent a lot of time running chainsaw (I'm even trained by FISTA) and hopefully she'll recover quickly. Just out of curiosity, how did the chainsaw cut her arm? Usually it's an issue below the waist.

Lord, we lift up JRD77VET's SIL, Donna, before you at this time.
Please restore your servant to full health, dear Father. Remove all fear and doubt from her heart by the power of your Holy Spirit. And may you, Lord, be glorified through her life.
As you heal and renew your servant, Lord, may she bless and praise you. All this we pray in the name of Jesus Christ and His glorious resurrection power!
Amen. :angel::angel::angel:

No worries ( you're correct KIm, it can happen to anybody )
Donna is the other "farmer's daughter" ( my wife is the other one )
She knows her way around machinery and it was just one of those "chit happens" things.

Damage was to the left hand/arm. Right now she has full use of her thumb and limited use of her index and middle finger. ( ring and pinky fingers are still there too )
She in good spirit but still can't believe it happened.
Thank you very much for the thoughts and prayers :angel:

I handle a chainsaw once every 5 years or so. I expect she is more experienced than I. Hopefully, all will be well soon.:angel:

Farmer's daughter so she grew up around machinery. It goes to show anything can happen ( and change your life ) in an instant.
