seems like some spring on my '72 has broken/frozen?? anyway it seems like the upper hinge has no 'catch' to it, door wants to close on me when getting in/out...pass side door is fine.....

SO, what is typically rong, and I have kept it greased/oiled over the last 25 years....

everything LOOKS ok compared to the pass side....

I thought go, but can that spring be replace without removing the top hinge completely?? looks like a PIA to do, or just replace entire hinge?? and where to get parts??

spring is like $12.

They make some tool which looks like a bent flat head screwdriver. Says door does not have to be removed. You could probably bend a cheap screwdriver and make one
