Minnesota bars, restaurants to move to take-out only, gyms to close under new COVID-19 restrictions

Gov. Tim Walz is expected to announce that Minnesota bars, breweries and restaurants will be restricted to take-out and delivery only, while all indoor fitness centers will be ordered to close under a new round of coronavirus restrictions as the virus continues its rapid spread throughout the state.

According to a source in the governor's office, movie theaters, bowling alleys and other indoor entertainment venues are also set to close.

There are implications for youth sports as well: All youth and high school indoor sports will be put on pause, while outdoor sports will be allowed to continue. That means hockey arenas will be ordered closed, with exceptions for pro and college facilities.

Concerning masks, I know of no minimum standards for mask efficiency or capacity to filter out germs required to market masks. The governments have mandated that you cover your face. Most "masks" that you see in stores say nothing about safety, but they mention comfort and fit. Few mention ability to filter or limit the spread of germs. And the government sets no standards. Whether it works or not, you must wear one.
These government mandates are about compliance, not safety.

So has the rest of Europe. But look at their deaths per 100k and infections per 100k. Still below the norm for Europe and they've never had a lockdown.

The problem is that we have literally millions of people in this country who will gladly surrender their own freedoms in order to have yours taken away. See dvarapala and his mask mandate, he will gladly wear a mask for the rest of his life, simply to see that you can't go to the store without one. Unfortunately, those with that attitude are growing exponentially, without regard for the fact that they themselves have EVERY tool at their disposal to live their lives without EVER coming into contact with an unmasked human if there is no mask mandate. It's not about them wanting to protect themselves, it's about them wanting you to be miserable because they are afraid. The whole "misery loves company" thing in full view. :yesnod:
