View Full Version : Florida is lifting covid restrictions. Would you wear a mask

If you think, as I do, that a mask reduces your chance of catching the virus, would you continue wearing one until you feel much of the risk is out there.

I personally feel a mask is effective since it is clear that droplets spread the disease. I am going to keep wearing a mask in public places until I see a significant drop in new cases.
'
How about you other mask wearers?

We keep a couple masks in each car.....wife has a tough time wearing any of them....hard to breathe.......I just think it's stupid.....so unless going to/from a Doc's office/etc.....I don't bother....even in places with signs.....

I wear a mask to respect you and you wear a mask to respect me.:seasix:

If you can't wear a mask, you shouldn't be out in public. No excuse. I go to stores as soon as they open to avoid crowds. What ticks me off is to see people with a mask on but wearing it on their chin with nose/mouth exposed as I saw two dudes at Home Depot a few weeks ago, at 6:00 am.

Also weeks ago at Home Depot saw a mountain of a man about 6' 8" and 400 lbs. scream and yell at two punks who weren't wearing any mask.:issues: :kick: :cert:

In Singapore, police can deliver punish on site by caning a person for offences. I wish we had this in the US.:kick:

I have no desire to wear a mask in public. First of all, I can't breathe while wearing one. Secondly, your health is not my responsibility, any more than is paying your rent, your bills or putting food on your table.:slap::slap::slap:

I'll just laugh at you. You have to earn my respect. And wearing a face diaper isn't the way you get it. And if some "mountain man" screamed at me for not wearing a mask, I'd laugh right in his mountain man face and go on with my business. If he laid a hand on me, game ****ing on.

You see, unlike the socialist hell-hole you live in, here in my neck of the woods we've not been wearing masks or cucking out at all for a couple months now. Restaurants are at full capacity, businesses can request that you wear a mask but can't make you. And they better do so rather low-key because most people here will just avoid your sorry ass store if you do.

And guess what? Nobody's dying. Nobody's sick. Things are just fine.

Like others have said, if coming across other humans who are not wearing masks frightens you, stay home. Get your groceries and other necessities delivered, or do contactless curbside pick up. Society as a whole should not be required to do anything simply because some small minority has a fear, especially when it is a fear that they themselves can so easily address.

I’ll probably continue to wear a mask in public until my family and I have been vaccinated.

Or it could be that wearing masks and all the other restrictions that were in place do absolutely nothing because it's a virus and viruses do what they do, spread. And now it's been spread. You've been exposed to it countless times.

As far as the vaccine goes, why get a vaccine for a virus that only kills 0.035% of the people that get symptomatic, and the vast majority that do die already have on average 2.5 serious co-morbidities? I mean, I guess if you are in that demographic, over about 60 and not very healthy, you could just as easily die from the flu (0.02% people die from it, all things being equal.)

So let's break this down. The CDC says wearing a mask is to protect others, not you, but you "feel" that it protects you. You also will wear one "until you see a significant drop in new cases." Just WTF is a "significant drop" and why are you worried about the number of new cases instead of the case rate, or even more important the hospitalization or death rate? Talk about brainwashed...

You can wear a mask forever for all I care, just don't expect me to do the same because of your personal "feelings." :seasix:

I wear a mask only when I am required to do so (entering a place of business, the gym, or work).

I do not wear one for a second longer than I am required to do so and if they ever lift the stupid rule (not likely in the near future) I won't wear one.

At work I am not required to wear one while seated at my desk in my office or while socially distanced in a meeting room, so I don't. Many do.

At the gym I am not required to wear one while stationary and exercising; only while walking around or entering/exiting the gym. So I don't.

Nope, would not wear one. the only time a mask is appropriate is while mowing the yard. CV19 is a zero event, morbidity rates track the last few years so guess what that means? Yeah the same number of people are dying that normally would so CV19 means zip. People in nursing homes catch a cold and die from that too.

It could be. But I interact with my elderly family who are high risk, I’ve got asthma so I’m in the higher risk bucket as well. So why not, the vaccine and mask don’t hurt me so why not just take a little extra precaution.

A hard hat on a job site is a mere soup bowl for your brain when dealing with huge items over head, so why wear a helmet? It’s a reminder of safety as much as it actually is a safety device. Why not treat the mask the same way, it’s a mere reminder to be safe not touch your face, etc. I’m certainly not a mask hole who’s going to lecture others, that’s their choice.

BS - most years they hit maybe 30% - So are you always in the 30%? I'd say that 70% of the time you wouldn't have gotten it anyway.

BTW - Never had one and haven't had the flu, just so you know my odds - flew every week for work for the last 30 years and each of those weeks I worked in a different hospital. Probability is that I've been exposed to every strain there is, including CV-19 and nope, haven't got that either (that I know of).

I’ll probably continue to wear a mask in public until my family and I have been vaccinated.

Let me see if I can help you with this (though I doubt it): Masks do not provide protection from COVID19 for the wearer, nor anyone around them.

The government knows this, or they would have just issued masks to prisoners instead of letting them out of prison.

If masks worked, they would have just left the economy open, while requiring mask wearing.

It says right on the box of the paper masks that most people wear that those masks DO NOT provide any protection from viruses.

Studies have shown that wearing a cloth on your face (like a bandana), not only gives you zero protection, it actually increases your likelihood of contracting the virus if you come into contact with it.

Mask wearing is not about safety or protection, it is about enforced compliance with the edicts of dictator governors. But if you want to wear a mask the rest of your life, go ahead. I'll choose unfettered breathing.

The problem with not wearing a mask in a store is that people look at you like you are walking through a playground with your dick hanging out. I'm pretty sure stage 3 is that no one is getting fined for not wearing one. Stores may still require it for entry.

Well, at restaurants, the 'rona hangs out at the entrance, and in the restrooms, therefore, it makes sense that the 'rona hangs out at the entrance to grocery stores. Wear the mask to enter the store, then take it off. You know that half the store works have their noses sticking out of their masks, rendering them even more useless. The masks, not the workers.
