This game is fun as hell. I've always been fascinated with flying and I've been waiting for this to finally be released. Time to order actual flight control devices so I can eliminate the keyboard. Flying with the keyboard SUCKS.
Gonna try and crash into my house.

Works really well on monitors connected to the actual video cards, but those connected to the USB to HDMI don't have the processing power. I can spread it out, but it becomes useless. Next computer build will solve that.

Looks like a cool game!
Apparently this is a new online bullying tactic.
People are sending screenshots of a plane crashing into other people's houses as "bullying".

Speaking that that, late last week my computer did it's automatic update thing. All seemed to go well until I launched my video editing software and was greeted with; Loadlibrary failed wtih error 126: The specific module could not be found. Then I attempted to open Photoshop and received the same message. Neither program would launch. :cuss:
I did what anyone without a 12 year old kid around would do, I hopped on the internet. One possible solution was to make sure I have the most current drivers for my video card. Off to AMD I went. I downloaded the most current drivers for my Radeon card and immediately lost my second monitor. As a matter of fact, the card didn't even show up in my Device Manager any longer. :banghead: NOW what? :island14:
I navigated over to Dell's website and reinstalled the original software and drivers my computer shipped with. About half way through the install my second monitor magically reappeared. :yesnod: I tried Photoshop and Premiere and both fully launched without the error. :yesnod:
At some point in the not too distant future I'm going to need a new computer as my current Dell struggles a bit with 4K video editing. The camera I'm eyeballing does 8K which will almost certainly be too much for my current setup. :spdchk:

I've about had it with Microsoft updates. Microsoft updated GWiz's tower and the next morning, her mouse and keyboard didn't work. Did a system restore and it worked again. Windows updated again and again it didn't work. There was no fixing that. SO...reformatted the drive, reloaded the OS, reloaded all apps, and did every possible Windows update and it works perfectly. Microsoft has broken more than one of my machines and they force feed this shit down you're throat. They just forced Edge on everyone and it cannot be deleted. :issues:

Not 100% positive about this but I believe you can turn off automatic updates which is the next thing I'll investigate.
I'm pretty good about backing up my photos and music to an external drive so I don't lose anything but an entire reformat is a hell I don't care to deal with.

No, in fact you cannot. You could in the past, but not anymore. I've tried this too. You can postpone updates for about a month, hell, you can even turn off the MS Update service in the service console, BUT, Windows magically heals itself at some point, turns the service back on, and then updates your computer and reboots, REGARDLESS of what's running...like my VMWare machine that runs an external site. And then it breaks that VM. That's MSFT. :issues:

This game is really quite fascinating. It uses cloud AI knowledge for weather and a lot of other things. I just took off from my same RSW airport and it makes the daylight and weather conditions actually match what's truly going on in Fort Myers this very instant. Flying at dusk is interesting. I'm sure I'll crash again.
HOLY SHIT. From the time that I paused the game (plane is hovering in place), the sun continued to set and has now gone below the horizon. SO COOL!!!

Did a 180 and am heading toward Florida's east coast. The lighting of the streets and cities comes on nicely and you can now see stars. In this picture you can see the lights in the distance of the east coast cities. I've established straight and level flight, with unlimited fuel, so I'm gonna let this bitch fly over night and check in where I'm at tomorrow. Currently 92 knots, or roughly 100 mph. I ain't going anywhere fast, but it's a fun way to explore the world.

I have Google Earth Pro. It's free and has a simple flight sim. with a couple of planes for anyone that wants to try a free version. The terrain is great in it for the most part. It does have a couple of crazy flaws with bridges over rivers, etc...but fun to fly around your house and see the satellite imagery.

I've played that many times, and it's part of the reason I wanted to get this one.
Dawn over the Atlantic. Now 1180 nautical miles away from Fort Myers. Been on a heading all night toward Morocco. At this pace, I think I'll be over the ocean all day, I might see land late afternoon or early evening.

I've been flying for 11 hours and I've only gone 1477 nautical miles.
4431 / 1477 = 3. Total trip time going to be more like 33 hours. I guess I won't see land until around 5-6 am Saturday morning. :slap:

You need to go lower and look for sharks, ships, Amelia Earhart, etc...
I still have an older version of MSFS. Have some friends that went with the pro engine control quadrants, rudder pedal setup, etc...Some are professional pilots that wanted a simulation if they were flying to a new airport, etc...some had no flying work available and wanted to stay somewhat current.

Yeah, I'm a little sad I picked such a slow plane, but it's so easy to fly. Currently 3,058 nautical miles from Fort Myers. 23,285 feet, and 93 knots. Steady flight, and a shit ton of starts to look at.
I have been looking at this sim and really want it. It's seems to be amazing. The local airport is on it. My computer won't handle it. My cpu and graphics card are too old. Well everything else is too. Are there any not too expensive systems that will do the job ? I have started to look for refurb. units. What specs do you guys suggest ?

Let me play around with some specs and I'll get back to you within the next day or two. Flight simulator 2020 is not an action packed first person shooter, so it requires not quite as much to perform nicely. My system is a beast, but it's also 3 years old. I wanted this sim so I could explore the planet on my own time, and possibly also learn how to fly. You don't need a beast to meet those requirements. You do need/want a reasonable video card, and a fairly modern processor. Solid State Drive for the OS drive certainly helps. :cert:
Thanks for checking into it. I may get a system and upgrade it a little like ram, ssd, graphics card. Sometimes that's more hassle than it's worth.

I'm digging the live weather feature. I took off from Fort Myers this morning, headed South East toward Tropical Storm Laura. Took about 8 hours total to get there and fly through it, but I got to experience the whole thing. Varied my altitude from high to low to high so I could fly through the various storm parts. It never got too ridiculous, but the plane did bounce around and I had rain on the windscreen.
Now I'm going to be an amateur hurricane hunter the rest of the season. I plan on flying into them as they come up. Gonna pick a faster plane once I learn how to fly those. I'm still struggling with the jetliners. I really need the yoke, pedals and the 3rd device. Keyboard ain't cutting it.
The attached PDF chronicles the adventure.

Looking forward to learning. Currently at 37,000 feet in an A320 flying to Las Vegas to see my mom. Gonna let the co-pilot land it.
I dug out a old XP system and was going to try to see if it had flightsim on it, I had it years ago on one of my computers. It was acting up last time I used it. Today it would not boot up, I took off the cover and saw smoke. So I tried another old one I had. it locks up and the mouse and KB don't respond. I may get a newer system soon since this HP is several years old too.
