So...my youngest son (16) is hanging out with some friends this afternoon. They decide to hike to the local school playground where my wife teaches, and they take a shortcut through a small section of a field at the end of the neighborhood. And what do they stumble across...yup, a dead body. The wife and I just got back home from said event. I didn't see it, but evidently it is in an advanced state of decomp, ie:skeleton. WTFO?

On the local news today a car that had been sitting on the side of a country road for several days had deceased person inside. What alerted the farmer was a bad odor coming from the and he called police.

Dayumitman......there was a golf course near where I got older, and a few years after the folks moved further out, there was a body on the other end of a fairway.....off into the woods on the right, where we used to hunt up golfballs to sell back to the players typically 25 cents each....

been a while....:issues:

Thing is, this body was probably there when school was still in back in March. Cops early theory is a homeless person, but who knows. Forensics was just getting there when we left, so no one knows if it was a crime scene or not.

Good it's not too bad.

When I was 18, the crane operator got electrocuted ( as in drop dead instantly). Worst part was it was a good friend from HS Uncle :sadangel:

Aside from a funeral, I have only seen one dead person. Several years ago a guy killed himself leaning up against a sign in my ex-in-law's neighborhood. The image is still clear in my head. I'd like to forget it. It was like a scene from a movie. Very freaky experience.

When I was in the 7th or 8th grade a small plane crashed and burned in the field at my school. You could see the body sitting in the wreckage burning.

Had a guy commit suicide by shooting himself outside the police department between two squad cars one night during shift change. Small caliber, we didn't even hear the shot inside the building, an officer found the body when he went to get in the squad car to go on shift.

And we had a guy run from a deputy one night in a truck, in a rural part of the county. He lost the deputy, the deputy terminated the pursuit as all he had was a rough description of the vehicle. About three months later, in the middle of August, a man cutting firewood on a piece of property just off the highway saw a glint. It was a small truck smashed against the trees...the underbrush had apparently closed behind it when the wreck occurred, and it couldn't be seen. Inside- the decomposing remains of one locally renown thug with a history of running from police. Found out that his girlfriend had thought he'd left her the day of the terminated pursuit, and never reported him missing. Not a nice scene...

I found a body when I was 15 or so. Riding dirt bikes behind a cemetery, I came around a corner and damn near ran in to a 61 Rambler. Dude decided to off himself via carbon monoxide. ****er taped a garden hose around his exhaust, ran it through the back window, hopped in and cranked it up.
He had taped the windows so that car was like an oven.
Oh yeah......this was in July.
He'd been there about a week.....

Asking the real question.

It's wild the stuff folks do.

A GI that I knew and talked with at work did something similar. We never hung out of anything but I knew him.

He was a cliche deal. Dude married his high school sweet heart that was a big girl. A big girl. He really did love her. They had a coupla youngins. Time rocks on and wife got bored being "Mom". She went to the doc and began a workout and weight loss program. She lost weight and turned into a hottie. Dudes start sniffing around. She loved the attention and dumped ole boy. Ole boy did not handle it at all. It culminated with a drive to his former home where the wife and youngins still lived. He drove into the garage, closed the garage door, and shit got real. He taped some type of hose to the exhaust, it's been a while and I don't remember the type, the other end to his face, sat down in the drivers seat, and started the engine.

Second hand info and last I heard, she moved some dead beat dude in with her. The biggest thing about it all was the kids. They were caught in the middle of tremendous shit going on.

One of my flying jobs in the Army was a Medevac Pilot. I've seen a few things I would like to forget.
