HOUSTON COUNTY, GA (CNN) - You think stealing candy from a baby is bad. How about snatching the money jar from a lemonade stand?
Chelsea Edwards, 13, and two friends set up a lemonade stand and it wasn't too long before she says a couple showed up and soured her first business experience.
"The man bent down and he seen the money jar and he grabbed it," Edwards said.
The man, investigators say, was 20-year-old Gage Allen Turner, who, with his girlfriend, allegedly snatched the cash and ran.
Chelsea says the pair made off with $130. The money was for her 2-year-old cousin, who is developmentally disabled and has a rare intestinal disorder and needs treatment.
Since the theft, Chelsea says neighbors have pitched in to fill a new money jar but there's still one question that remains.
"Why would he go up and rob three girls?" she asked.
Both suspects have since been arrested.
