Its just an oversized rat. Kill it with fire. Groundhogs will seriously F up your foundation if they are allowed to dig close to it.

It's a woodchuck - aka groundhog.

The not-so-little bastard is living under my deck. Neighbor called my wife to say she's see the bugger sunning himself while we're at work, the scurrying under the deck when we get home.

Last fall something dug under our paver path and collapsed a big section where it met the deck. Now I know what it was...

We'll probably cart it off to a friend's farm and release it. I can recall my dad catching skunks in a live trap when they nested under his cottage. As he described it, he would walk down to the dock and dunk the cage in the water, "I gave them swimming lessons and not one passed." :D

I'll be setting the trap tomorrow so if we capture him I'll be home to deliver him to his new living area. Hopefully Saturday he'll be making new friends...

Finally caught something tonight. Liz's favorite pet.

Damn possum won't come out of the trap. I prop the door back open, he steps on the trip plate. Rinse, repeat. I may have to pick up the damn trap and dump him out. :beat:
