Well, I've got a shot at it. I was around a relative who later developed symptoms. She has been tested and we should have the results in a few days. Now, understand she is a heavy smoker with mild asthma and severe allergies, so she develops these symptoms every year around this time anyway, but we are playing it safe. She also has no fever. Also keep in mind I was around her long enough ago that if I had the virus I should have symptoms by now and neither me or my wife do.
If she tests positive, then my wife and I will be eligible for testing, which we will do. I'm not worried about getting it even though I'm in my late 60s. My respiratory system is in excellent shape and my immune system is very good. I do worry about my wife because she has asthma.
I know one thing, I'm damn glad I quit smoking 18 years ago.:yesnod:

My neighborhood chatter type webpage (Nextdoor) has a few posts from elderly people scared out of their wits. One needs BP meds and the doctor refuses to refill without a wellness check. Has no Teledoc availability. The woman is in her 80s and does not want to go to her doctor's office. Another cannot drive and is out of soap and toilet paper etc. A neighbor is going over to help. This is all ridiculous.
I hadn't been to a doc in 30 years. recently after flying, I got a high fever(102.8) which lasted two days, massively dehydrated, and a dry cough. its possible I had it, but when I went to the doc it wasn't even a thing yet.

I bet many of us have had it already or currently have it and are either asymptomatic, or have or had very mild symptoms. That seems to be the way this works. Most will encounter little or no difficulty, and a small, unfortunate percentage will be really knocked down or killed by it. The fact that asymptomatic people can have it and shed virus, unknowingly, leads me to think shitloads of people have already had their encounter with it.
I'm not afraid of getting hit with it for myself, I'm more scared about bringing it home to my Mom, who is the exact demographic to die from it. I'm waaaay better about washing my hands, and that's the first thing I do when i walk in the house now. Thankfully it's getting hot here already, so the car interior, car door handle, etc., is already kinda hot.

I can't be the only one thinking that this is nature's way of curing over population. Sure, I don't want to die or want anyone I know to go (well, there a re a couple I wouldn't miss), but it seems like throughout the history of the earth it's given itself a deep cleansing enema from time to time.

Update: My relative's Corona Virus came back negative. It took eight days to get the results. So good news for now.:seasix:
She still has a bad cough, but probably a bronchial situation, and smoking doesn't help. My wife and I are still symptom free.

I began my shelter in place with three 1.75 liter bottles of Jim Beam. I'll be opening the second one tonight. I have a bottle of 120 proof Everclear, but we may need that for hand sanitizer.:shots:
