So what is Mortal Kombat: Legacy?

It's a 10-part webseries from director Kevin Tancharoen (Fame!). Last year Tancharoen created an awesome pitch for a new Mortal Kombat film, which you can see below. The pitch went viral quickly, with fans begging for more. With the buzz from the short, Tanchareon was able to secure the rights for a "mini-series", and a home for the project with Machinima.com.

The series stars Micheal Jai White as "Jax", Jeri Ryan as "Sonja Blade", Darren Shahlavi as "Kano", and Tahmoh Penikett as "Stryker". Tanchareon has said that "Kitana" is definitely going to appear, and it's assumed that several other characters from the video game series will feature in the web series.

It is unknown whether the events of the original pitch actually connect with the series, so take it as a stand alone piece...

It's an interesting piece. As an introduction to characters it works. Sonja, Stryker and Jax are good guys, Kano is a bad guy. Not much going on in the way of story, but we're only just into things. Hopefully things go up from here because, while it's a solid start, Mortal Kombat fans are going to want crazy shit happening, real soon...
