Okay, so here's my day so far while I have a couple of minutes. On my way to work this morning my daughter called me to tell me my son David (Daxius on here) was at the ER at Erlanger with symptoms of a possible heart attack. I get to work, tell my boss, and head to Erlanger Hospital. His enzymes are extremely elevated, pain in the left arm, and heartburn in the high center of his chest. Lots of tests done and nothing definitive. Next is an arteriogram. Hopefully it will show no damage or blockages. He suffered a fall backwards down some steps at his apartment a few days ago and they say it is possible he may have bruised his heart in the fall and that is what is causing the symptoms. We should know something in a little while. Just grabbed a bite to eat and headed back to Erlanger.
Update 1:20 pm: turned out one artery is blocked. Docs will either attempt to clear it or put in a stent.
P.S. he is only thirty six years old.
Hoping for the best of all outcomes!

Here's a full recovery to him.
Will say a prayer :seasix:
I hope all is well, prayers sent.
He is where he needs to be, blessings for the staff that will take care of him.

Those stints have been one of the greatest medical advancements of my lifetime. If you son needs one he'll probably be feeling better than ever in a few days.

The stent will fix him right up.

Mil had one did wonders for many years. :seasix:
Sorry to hear that. I have a couple of friends that you could substitute their names into that story and it would fit perfectly. They all came through well, and were back to regular activities in a few days. Hope your son has the same experience!

Dr Abraham just left. He did have a heart attack. One artery was 99% blocked, others are narrow but not bad enough to stent. Will be able to see him in a few.

Sounds like as good an outcome as we could want. I take it he did stent the 99% blockage?
Damn! He's waaaaay too young for a heart attack. Let's hope he'll be OK. Will there be surgery to put a stent in, or is it too late for that? My relative had a heart attack, and the docs told the relative it was a very small vessel that became totally occluded, and that bit of heart muscle was dead, nothing really to do about it. It didn't impact anything in any meaningful way, other than, "hey, you know you had a heart attack, right?"

In a room now. They did install one stent. He is awake and bitchy so pretty much back to normal. Getting meds to help open the other arteries and prevent future occurrences. Thanks everyone.

Back in October, I went to the ER for suspected heart attack, as I was exhibiting the classic symptoms. Turns out I was dying from a drug overdose.

Glad to hear he is recovering!
Praying for complete long term healing!
Father-to-father, hang in there, Dad!

Hoping all goes well.
Seems very young to have those problems, but every body is different.
I got 3 stents 10 years ago, and I feel better today than I did back then.
Cholesterol is down below average thanks to statins.
Rough going the first six months while on blood thinners (bruise easily,
bleeding doesn't stop to well, etc), but life gets better.
Speedy recovery to your son and family.

Scary time; all the best to your son, OP.
We had a similar scare with one of our sons last year. He did turn out to have a minor narrowing in one artery, but nothing that they would do anything about, & they didn't think it was the cause of his discomfort. :island14:

Glad they got a stent in before any damage to the heart. Good thing he went to the ER when it started. :seasix:

Gotta get him to quit the nicotine shit. I know it is hard, as I still haven't officially quit myself. But I ran out of snuff about 15 years ago, and just haven't had time to get more.

I don't think the urge ever entirely goes away. They just make me feel too bad to ever smoke again.
