Having some issues with the theft deterrant system. The Drivers side door opens but, can't adjust the mirrors , operate the lock/unlock switch and window switches will not work. The passenger side works fine and I can unlock drivers door using passenger side switch. The Theft deterrant light stays lit. (on dash)

Both windows were indexing just fine untill I had heard that if I disconnect the negative battery terminal for 15 minutes it would reset the computer? When I did that the window went down about an inch and I cant get it closed . (rivers side) I have checked fuses etc. Any ideas before I take it in and through myself on the mercy of the dealership?:confused5:

Have you had any work done on that door ? Sounds like all the forward controls are disconnected. I'm not sure where the plug is for the door-I'd think under the dash.

No work has been done on door at all. Crazy thing is that the window "was" indexing and the switches still light.

The only other thing I can think of is look under all the DIC options and see if something got turned off.

Thanks, Looked through all options on DIC and no luck. I think I have now tryed everything and will have to take it in. I really think its a short or ground somewhere but darned if I can find it.:confused5:

Did you re-initialize the indexing feature of the windows after reconnecting the battery?

If not;

Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement, the
window index-up feature will not function until the system
is initialized. Once power is restored, do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds and
release.

Could be a bad Driver Door Module. :waiting:

Also could be a bad chassis ground.
