Please don’t move to PRC. Kill me first.

I am not the most devoutly person ever but one has to believe in something.
One has to believe in something. Are we arrogant enough to think we’re alone?
There is a “god”. Our definitions may be different but is there a higher power? What is it?
Could be aliens. Whose to know?
Anyone have answers?

If we had the answer - all would know.
I do not believe we are alone.
I do believe in a higher power.

Yes. Maybe. Or not. Or yes. Hard to tell without a breathalyzer. Ok, maybe. Perhaps. Or or not.
Are you a believer?
Are you a believer?
Strong no.
I was raised kinda sorta Roman Catholic. Lisa's parents are crazy stout Roman Catholics. I'm not sure I ever really believed but I fully renounced religion in my early teenage years and that's where I've stayed. Miss Lisa has lost her faith too, I think. Not my influence. We don't talk about it.
That said I don't think one needs religion to be a good person. I try to be a good person regardless.

Hard to say. Many unexplicables. Dideth He not teach thy how to distill thy “spirits”? Did thine not create thy fermentation process? Art though not the thy process holy?
Many questions. As in sha’ll thy goeth fromyeth thy tequila to thy vodka.

We attend every week. Roman Catholic. Don’t care what others do but appreciate having the order in our lives, and opportunity to focus/pray for our friends and family who need them. It works well.

Got Some Jim and Tammy Fae Baker on VHS Tapes...

Faith comes to you in everyday observations of wonder in our daily lives on this planet and it's inhabitants..
The concept of putting on some nicer clothes early on a Sunday Morning is rather archaic.
Went to Sunday School, Lip Synced in the Choir, was Treasurer of the Youth Group by being 4th most popular... Went to Church.. Boy Scouts met there too, so was there often, many days a week
Do I go today... NO.
pArTy on ~ and while doing so.. Wonder in what we got here and give a thumbs up to what brought it to us. Amen.

Friend's mom in high school would come completely unhinged if he missed a single mass.
I made the mistake of asking him to do something on a Sunday all day that would have kept him away from mass...

I attended every Sunday growing up and in to my 40's when the kids were young. But when dance and travel baseball came around for our kids we fell out of it. So now it's a once or twice a year event.

was raised Catholic and appreciate the value system. I think the teachings sort of guide one to be a good human and for that alone there is value, even if not a believer per se.
that said, our family ran into a series of bad priests who made it known that we were not good enough to attend because there wasn't enough money in our pot to give them their fair share. it got really ugly. faith isn't supposed to be quid pro quo and that turned me off. I go when its appropriate such as weddings and such, but skip the every sunday thing.

I've encountered the "you're not giving enough" a few times, both of time and monetary donations. A guy a work his church had to see his w2 every year to make sure he was giving the appropriate amount. :kick:

Plus they do a lot of good for their communities.
Quoted from Frank Herbert’s Dune (of all things): Religion must remain an outlet for people who say to themselves ‘I am not the kind of person I want to be’. It must never sink into an assemblage of the self-satisfied.

Growing up I attended 12 years of private Catholic school, which explains my Grammar Nazi behavior on here.... most Sunday mornings, early mass, then the Italian bakery for pastries etc, and then home.
Pretty sure most know my answer, yes I do believe. Church a few times a month now, when the kids were here 2-3 times a week.

We did that as well. :seasix: My daughter was recently Ordained as a Minister and moved to Indiana to help their congregation.
I started off Catholic through the military. Then in College I quit going but met my future wife who was Lutheran. I joined shortly after we were married but still didn't go... she did.
then the kids started going and when the Pastor fast-tracked Trey through the confirmation process, I started going again.

There is one true and living God, the God of the Bible. The God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. The God who first revealed Himself to the Jews, and later to the Gentiles. All other gods are false gods, and there is no hope of salvation in any of them.
Many churches and religions and denominations teach a god other than the God of the Bible. They have other scriptures and teachings, they add to or subtract from the Bible. They have all gone apostate at some time past, and continue to be apostate.
If you attend any church that teaches anything other than the God of the Bible, then you are not hearing what God wants you to know about Him.
For English speakers, I'd highly recommend sticking to the Authorized Version, (AKA King James Version) of the Bible, as published by Cambridge. More modern versions have been corrupted by various people over time.
All that said, I have not found a local church that teaches and preaches the Bible and the Bible only. I do get a benefit from listening to sermons I download from Godly pastors.

Nope. I'm of the opinion that religion is a man-made concept to control the masses. I do not deny the existence of a supreme being, but I don't pray to one. Instead, I believe in the Golden Rule.

I believe, except the part where mankind is involved in delivering the message. Mankind seems to always find a way to corrupt/pervert that message.
