Okay, explain this.

Earlier today I rebooted my computer, so I had to sign in here again. I did so and after two posts, I notice my avatar was missing, my PMs were all gone, my post count was 2, etc. Then I realized I had mistakenly put a period after the Mr in my user name. I understood everything then, and re-signed in correctly.

What I don't understand is if I effectively created a new account, how come all I had to do was a simple sign in, and why did my password work?:island14:

What does it say under Join Date. Maybe you accidentally set up that "wrong named" account and forgot about it.

I think I might have this figured out. I was trying out a new Chromebook that the wife had bought me and I think I remember trying to sign in here on it. I quickly decided I didn't like it and my nephew needed it for school so I gave it to him. I can't be sure of the exact date, but I think it might have been around that time. At least I had the sense to log out of it. It was the middle of the day, so I was sober, but the whole episode was so brief and long ago I forgot about it.:yesnod:

Note the account is closed, not deleted...So the possibility remains you could mistakenly log into it again in the future. If you do, you'll be greeted by a message noting the account's deactivated status, and won't be able to post, PM, or use thanks from it.
