:seasix: A right to be proud of that job.

My buddy and his crew once tied down a RTCH. A RTCH, pronounced Retch, is used to move conexes around and weighed, at the time, about 120k. It was loaded on a C-17 and the tie-down crew used all the chains on the aircraft. The thing looked like a spider web when finished. Chains were all over the place.

More, the aircraft take off time was later in the day where the combo of summer time heat, aircraft lift, and heavy weight all fight. The plane freakin' cork screwed it's way up.

That's more of a case of the trailer being tied to the tractor than the tractor being tied to the trailer.

No man in the history of ever has been able to load a trailer or the back of a truck and not say “that ain’t going nowhere”. I find myself doing it often!

Some props for the tie down, that's about it.

:Jeff '79: Truth.

Not so much for the flimsy connection or an overloaded trailer that started swerving and the wreck was on at that point.
