Well, to be honest, the ad should just read, "This car is busted all to shit". You know the frame is bent in a bad way. The engine bay pic is fantastic. Oh well, may it rest in pieces.

Nothing but a parts car. Too bad, because it looks like it was really kept up before the mishap. Car as a whole is roasted though.:sadangel:

KBB value for that car for private party sale with a clean title and in very good condition is around 29K. Salvage title cuts that in half. Even with all damage repaired and a salvage title it's not worth 15K.

Hmmmm....for the right price, I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Perfect donor match for both of my cars.

There's a dealer in Gainesville who would jump on it.

Would be worth checking out for that purpose, but not for the price.:seasix:

Car spent some of it's life in Houston. Serviced at Mac Haik Chevrolet while I worked there.
You'll get around $10-12,000 from the parts on that thing.

I wonder if the drive train could also have some damage. That thing came down very hard. Even if I had a use for it, I wouldn't go over 5-7K.

10-12 is what I was thinking of offering.
I don't so much care about the drive train. Torque tube is probably borked, but the individual pieces (transmission and differential) are likely still worthwhile, as is the engine.

For that price I think all power train components would have to be in good working order. Suspension parts are likely damaged, too.

Brakes, seats, trans, diff, engine, radio (although it is the base one), wheels, maybe the exhaust. You could sell all that.

I wouldn't sell any of it. I have TWO of these cars that I'm never getting rid of. Having a parts car IS the point. Same as me having the black Miata for GWiz.

It was wrecked here in Houston, and sold to the dealer in Miami at a salvage auction

Yeah, you could use all of that. I mean that's the stuff worth the $10-12,000 left on that car.

Gotta love all the useless shots in the gallery.
Not one shot showing any of the real damage.

:iagree:
I wouldn't buy that unless I could inspect the vehicle up on a lift. The engine bay pic made me cringe. There may be a LOT of broken components :willy:

Sounds like the car was totaled and I'll bet the owner bought it back from the insurance company. Any guesses on what he probably paid for it? I've never been involved in this kind of thing and I have no idea. I'll take a wild guess at 5K. What does everyone else think?

When my mother wrecked the Camry I had bought her, it was worth perhaps $8000 when it was totaled. The insurance paid it off and told us we could keep the carcass. Since I was actually the one out the money, I planned on selling it to help make it a bit less of a hit when I bought her yet another car. Before I could, she sold it for like $800 to the salvage yard. Then she said she didn't know anything about it, but they had CALLED ME and TOLD ME that's what happened. So that's the only info I have about this subject.
