It gets better! I reinstalled the entire unit to find...PITA #3 I reinstalled the shield backwards. Teardown #3  Good thing is, my wife didn't come out to find out why I was swearing and throwing tools, so we're still married :D

Finally got the driver side done this morning. I like it, no more plastic pieces. Looks good too!

manual hubs?

It has vacuum & manual hubs. The vacuum hasn't worked for years but should now with new seals and vacuum lines. I just haven't had the chance to check it yet :cert:

Amen brother! I'll rebuild this one 3 times (like this weekend :D) before I take on new truck payment! :cert:

My first Suburban with "automatic hubs" was my 1990 1500. My mechanic, when he checked it out before I purchased it, told me to engage the 4WD every month to keep everything working correctly.

That "saved" me three hours of shop rate if he were to free everything back up.

With that kind of tare down, is a front end alignment needed?

Yep. The drivers side tire is worn, so, new tires and alignment are in order :yesnod:

How many miles on that bad boy

It's 18yrs old and only has 175 miles which ain't shit for the motor, I've always used my truck for what it's designed for, hauling, towing, 4 wheeling, much of that to the extreme. So it's everything else that needs to be worked on from time to time :seasix:

Good to see ya posting here again Joey! :cert:
