What would be a good counter offer?
I was thinking of 26500?

I would not buy it.

Any particular reason? Went down there today, the one mentioned was sold, had one similar, less miles. Wanted 33000. Told them I would be willing to pay 26000. They came down to 27xxx. No dice. I'll try later in the month

Lots. Do you want interior, exterior, performance, or just my plain hate of BMW and my personal experience with them?

I remember an argument on here about it before but I perfer Audi hands down (I have an 07 S-4) to the BMW. The interior is amazing, The quattro is fantastic if you are feeling frisky, and the cost of parts is cheaper though harder to come by.

I would drive both cars back to back and see if you still wanted the BMW.

I also believe dollar for dollar you are getting a better car and not just a badge with the Audi.

If you want to hear about my personal run in with a 5series I used to have I can tell you all about some poor gas and all the plastic used inside the engine.

I'd appreciate any personal experiences. I'll check into Audi today

The only issue I have heard of with the Audi is the direct injection can cause the ports to get nasty. So to avoid this I sea foam the car every other oil change.

With the BMW I basicly gave the whole story away. Got some bad gas drove less then 3 miles and it started to buck. I shut the car down had it towed drained the gas flushed the fuel and put in good gas. No biggie right? Wrong. The 30 seconds it acted up for was enough to break a piece of plastic guide on the Vanos which in turn broke the plastic for the chain guides and the bent the tensioner. It was one big cluster frick. Turns out the plastic they use is stupid brittle. I mean I understand it is lower friction and does not wear as fast but it just makes the engine to fragile.

Other issues is the battery is a higher voltage then a normal battery and if it starts getting weak you will get a trillion electronics glitches including no start, alarm randomly going off, service light. The whole car was just a nightmare.
