IIRC they belonged to the previous apartment tenant. We see them in a brief shot as Charles Bronson's character moves in after he is murdered.

I suppose the character was in the USA Air Corps, then stayed in service long enough to be in the USAF when it was created (1947?) That would explain how he got the awards from both services.

Most likely, was portrayed to be in both.

I did this box some years ago for a club member. Her father was in from 1937 - 1957, AAC then to USAF. Did a split service display, AAC and associated medals from that era, then the USAF the same way on the other side. One display that I am most proud of.......

She has two sons, said they almost went to fisticuffs who will get it when she passes.:D She didn't want to see her boys fight over Grandpops shadow box, she commissioned me to do an identical, which I was glad to.

Just for reference, that was $500 in material back then....for one.

Don't believe so, his wings device indicated air crew.

Not a pilot, with senior enlisted rank, most likely a crew chief or loadmaster.
