View Full Version : Time to sing FED EX praises once again

I ordered some camera equipment off ebay and the seller sent it fed ex to my work.
Stupid me figured fed ex could handle that since the business has been at this location for quite a few decades.
I was waiting all day but no joy. I left just after 3 pm. Other folks were there until after 5 pm. I get home after numerous stops and check tracking just after 4:30.
fed ex says it was delivered at 2:41 pm and "signature on file". Nobody knows where the box is. I go to the fed ex website, get the virtual assistant and find out that is completely worthless. I go to "live chat", they have me enter info and I explain my problem.
and wait ......
and wait .......
and wait ......
No response at all so I typed in the problem and wanted to know where the package is and who signed for it. 20 minutes of my time wasted.
Tomorrow morning as soon as it gets light, I'll drive the 20 miles to work to look outside to see if the chucklehead put it outside.
Last year the moronic fed ex driver put my brand new Nikon D3400 camera between the side of the building and the mower shed. Sat outside in freezing temps for three days before the driver said where he put it. He marked it as "left by front door" :bslap:

Sounds normal for FedEx. I had 2 packages coming when I was to be at work. One signature required. Not knowing which package was signature required, I had to pay $5.25 each to get them rescheduled for after I got home. Both coming to the same address at the same time on the same truck, but I had to pay for each of them. Of course they won't respond to messages left about it.

FedEx sucks monkey balls. A friend of mine ordered an item, which FedEx lost, then found, and is returning it to the original starting location instead of sending it to my friends house.

Try and specify USPS Flat Rate next time. I sell on the Net and have never had an issue with tracking or delivery. Priority mail is generally 2 day delivery to all 50 states.

USPS and UPS will both hold packages to the next day if they can't deliver to work.
Only the morons at fedex leave them somewhere around the building.
I use USPS priority to mail the cub cadet parts I make. I've had a couple slow deliveries but they never lost any yet.

Finally got thru "live chat". Basically they came up with a lame excuse not to contact the driver to see where they left the package.
Idiots
Unfortunately, I do apologize, but the driver's are not allowed to use phones while on their delivery routes, as this is a safety hazard. We do not issue phones to our drivers and they are not required to use their personal phones for work

Fedex stinks. We had ordered a small area rug, Fedex reported it as delivered, except it wasn't here. What annoyed me the most was that their customer service was completely useless. Called several times to tell me they were working on it, were going to speak to the driver, blah, blah, blah. After days of nonsense, the seller refunded our $$, since they couldn't get an answer out of Fedex either. So a week later, it shows up at our door with a note from a neighbor down the road somewhere! They had called Fedex to report it as misdelivered, & never heard anything back from them either, so they drove it over.

:iagree:
I got a complete bullshit answer on them talking to THEIR driver.
The FedEx business model must be with the woman on top as the only thing they can do is **** up :slap:
We have actually cancelled items ordered if they are being delivered by Fed Ex. They have lost so many packages it is amazing. The last straw was when we ordered an item on Amazon, Fed Ex delivered it to the wrong house. Mind you this was about a $400 item. Amazon was great and immediately shipped another item by UPS. We had the new item for a week and the morons from Fed Ex finally realized they delivered it to the wrong house. When they went to get the item the people refused to admit or turn over the items, this was the 5th item they had done this with.

I must be lucky as FedEx has always been spot on (knocks on wood) while UPS is a disaster

I got my camera stuff. I was able to get into the building today since the owner had some paperwork to go over. The driver just put it inside the door.
Nobody signed for it, he didn't hand the package to anyone, he just opened the door and put it on the floor.
I hate fedex :cuss:

I do have to feel sorry for anyone in this burb that not knowing the stupid layout, has to deal with the idiocy of the house numbers......it's WAY beyond anything logical.....
for instance, my house is 341 guy across the street it 420......
go up my road about 3 houses turn left with the road, and the house numbers switch to 200 something on the 420 side of the road, and 100 something on 'my' side of the road.....same road name.....witch changes from my road name to another road name with totally different # sequences, as it crosses a major feeder road that is not even striped......but that feeder road buts into the leg leading into a cul de sac......go figger......
serious!!!!!!!:issues:

Using FedEx Tracking, I have seen items go from the distribution hub in Los Angeles, back to the East Coast, and then back to Los Angeles. Some highly inefficient shit going on with that company. :yesnod:

My best "road trip" watching tracking ( USPS ) was a part I ordered from IL. I figured a couple days tops to get to PA.
It went directly to CO, to NM, to TX,to FL, to PR, then to AL, NJ and finally to PA. Only took a couple weeks :banghead:
FedEX drivers in our area are incapable of reading house numbers.
They blindly trust GPS and give our packages to someone else 200 yards down the street.
Everyone on our side of the street has numbers on their mailboxes AND decorative signs on the walk up to the front door.
Thankfully Amazon (where I buy most things) uses USPS and UPS exclusively here.

This thread in most all of the posts, clearly shows the IQ and work attitude of the employees .....they are NOT on the job......but they are not alone, as my post above attests......

If they try to use GPS here they will never find me. Onstar used to argue with folks as well.
Fedex around here thinks tossing it out by someone's gate is good enough. All the neighbors bound together and stopped helping them and made them come back and do their damn job. :seasix::cert::seasix:

Update on my first post: The package was returned to the seller due to FedEx breaking the item.
They suck.

Devil's advocate time. There are really 2 FedExes. The ground service idjuts are subcontractors, not jen-u-wine FedEx employees. Priority 1 and other "overnight" parcels are handled and delivered by actual company vetted and trained individuals.
I get freight every day at work and UPS Next Day packages arrive my location between 1 and 3PM because UPS does not fly direct to Savannah; the airport is in South Carolina.
FedEx flies direct Savannah and their hub is on the airport proper. I get P1 parcels as early as 9AM, almost never later than 10AM.
YMMV depending on the logistics in your location.

Similar situation here...with a $7-800 order! I was home all day tracking this order that was supposed to be delivered by 8 PM. I kept checking the tracking, and after 8 PM it said, 'Item delivered'...errrr, wasn't delivered here, dumbasses!
You know those cheeseburger ottomans at Red Robin? I had 2 made for the rec room I am doing in my finished basement...so I am imagining some household they got delivered to had a buncha kids bouncing up and down on my custom made sheit that took forever to have made :willy: and that there would be NO WAY that the unintended recipients would give them up. :Jeff '79:
I was pretty succinct in my phone calls with FedEx that night...I think they understood the seriousness of it all as the next morning by 8 AM, the order was on my front porch. :seasix:
I much prefer Brown Santa (UPS)!

You guys at least got your stuff. If had gone through Dallas (FedEx rocks post), you might not have gotten it since their outstanding employees were stealing everything. I can't stand FedEx, just for the same reasons none of you can. They suck.:issues:
