Wife/family giving up on the damn F150, and so looking at a 2013 Toy Tac....2 seat/door with topper in back, 2.7 Inline 4 cyl.....auto, manual windoze, pretty basic model....
they asking 14k for the thing, only has 56k miles on it....looks clean and good, supposed carfax type info lists it as from North Va. IE...DC region....so the age and miles for that region seem to add up.....color is white all over, gray interior, in clean shape all over....
so what do you all think of them in general??

Taco's are great trucks. Every single person I've ever known with one has loved it. They also hold their value quite well. I would be skeptical of anything from N Va though. One little nick in the paint, and off to rust city you go.

Not sure of how bad the winters are like in that part of the country but if it snows and they salt the roads CHECK THE FRAME FOR ROT.
Otherwise rock solid trucks.:seasix:

I can't recall what year my father's was but the frame rusted so badly on that year Toyota recalled them and replaced frames for free. I would research whether that truck is eligible, and whether the recall was performed.

My daily is a '14 Tacoma 4x4, Regular Cab, 2.7, Automatic. It's a bit of a slug, but it's without a doubt the best vehicle I have ever owned. Dead nuts reliable. :yesnod:

I've never heard anything negative about them whatsoever and I've probably known over 20 people that have or still own them.
Do your usual due diligence and research on the one for sale and you should be good to go.

The only thing negative I've heard is about the gas mileage not being as good as they thought it would be. But in all fairness that was mostly from idiots that figure anything that says Toyota on it should get 40 mpg.

I used to live there and in MD when I was a kid. Cars there will have some rust even at one year old.:yesnod:
